  1. Thanks for the replies. I will just wait for a few reviews.
  2. Not seeing any specs on this new 499 server, just the sales blog. I currently have my Roon Core on a 12 yr old Cyberpower I7 -3770k with 16 ram. The computer is used for everyday chores and loaded with the usual programs. If I was to upgrade the power supply in the new Nucleus do you think I would get an uptick in SQ? Would love to get the core off the PC but would also like a sonic benefit. I realize its probably a guess right now but give me your best one. Thanks, Russ
  3. Few month old Tubulus Concentus cable. Sold my clock and updated my Dac so no need for it. rarely seen used. New 429 asking 325 perfect condition
  4. After spending the weekend listening and learning the menu system. (system reset took care of the lights on the meters) I could not be more happy with the Dac 200. From streaming Tidal and Qobuz to DSD files off the hard drive everything sounds fantastic. Clearly next level ( at least to me). Played concert blu rays thru the Spdif and much of the same. Even You tube thru the optical sounded pretty dam good. I really think it makes all the rest of your system shine from amplification to speakers and cabling. The Personas 5fs with Be tweeters and midrange are ruthless with dacs on the high side of neutral. The Dac 200 is perfect match that allows the Personas to shine without showing their warts. Still dialing in the swarm sub system as the bass is quite different than the Bricasti M3 that the Dac 200 replaced. Much more defined. One thing mentioned mentioned in owners comments as this could be an end game Dac. I think at least in my case at 65 yrs old this could be the case but at this level of performance at an a relatively affordable price ( Chances are this is not anybody’s first Dac as we move up the ladder in performance and price) I couldn’t see anybody not being happy with this Dac for long time. So when I received the Dac the seller was less than honest about the condition. The top plate had numerous scratches and would be a “7” and not a “9” I was really disappointed as my gear is always a 10 and can’t remember ever having a scratch on any piece of gear. So I reached out to T+A about replacement and Elliot reached out immediately and I ordered a new lid for $75.98. Talk about service!! Glad to be off the Dac go round for a long time!!
  5. Just hook this up. Sounds pretty good cold. I bought it used and the lights on the meters are not operating. I have been thru the menu system but having no luck. Any ideas? thanks
  6. Thanks for the positive vibes on my decision. Being delivered today. It’s previously owned so already broken in. Should be a fun weekend.
  7. Yes I have a Melco NA H60ex. I have DSD and Hi Rez flac and Wav files on it. The Lumin U2 or the mini have no storage correct? So I guess I really need a server/streamer that upscales to DSD. Hoping to have delivery by the weekend. I heard a Dac 200 streaming Qobuz without upsampling and it sounded pretty good from what I can tell. I can look at the Auralic. Did not know they upscaled. Had the old school Aries back in the day with the seperate LPS. Sounded good back then but switched over to the Aurenders and it was a bit better. I probably should have done my homework a little more. I know it’s a great sounding unit just have to do a little work to get there.
  8. I anxiously await the delivery of the Dac 200 I am a little bummed after seeing the Goldensound YouTube review. Sounds like it needs to get fed DSD to sound good. I use Roon but not sure how good the HQP implementation is, so I guess I need a streamer that upsamples to DSD? I know the Lumin’s and Grimm do. Anything else? Really not looking at a PC/HQP way as looks way to confusing and latency would probably drive me crazy. Thanks for the replies.
  9. No, not at all. Just saw a few available with a remote. Remote is nice if you are using without a preamp but if you are using a preamp no worries. You may have to get up and change inputs but once set up that’s probably about it.
  10. Good for you. Hope you got one with a remote. sounds pretty good without a preamp if you don’t need analog inputs. Let us know what you think. Same Melco I have. They sound good together. The x series is Roon ready only difference
  11. I dropped Eelco a line and asked to quantify the degradation by using both outputs simultaneously . He wrote it was hard to figure but an extra preamp and very short IC’s would be best.
  12. What a piece the Mu2 may become especially if you can lose your preamp. Little out of my league at the moment but with the MU2 as an only source why would you need a pre amp? I have always had one in the chain as I felt the music always had a little more body and drive but this preamp in the Mu2 sounds like it’s as good as a pretty solid standalone pre. Only thing that I am bummed about a possible future purchase as it states in the manual not to run the XLR and single ended outs together as it compromises SQ. I have a swarm sub system so need the extra set of pre outs.
  13. So the clock needs the EtherRegen as the Bricasti has no clock input. Go from the Melco to the Bricasti and add on down the road. You can probably get away with the Supra cable for 50 bucks. The new EtherRegen will be out soon and there will be a flood of originals Hang on and get one then for 350 or so. The OCK 2 comes up for 500 used so keep an eye out. Which Melco do you have?
  14. Yes of course. I was reading your review and you noticed a lot of noise between the two but that was a while back and maybe that’s been fixed. I really would like a Mu2 and ditch a preamplifier but need to run the XLR and single ended at the same time to feed a swarm sub system and Grimm mentions running both degrades the sound. Thanks for the reply.
  15. Looks like quite a few opportunities in the Mu1 used market as the Mu2 gets rolled out. How would this mate with the T+A 200 as there are quite a few available also. Would really like a Mu2 but a little out of reach. Thanks for the comments
