If still in the market, I've used one of these the past few months: SAMSUNG T7 Shield 2TB, Portable SSD. It replaced a Western Digital 2TB MyBook drive that moved to backup duty. The SSD is connected to an Allo Digione. It is approximately "deck of cards" small and easy to place. Best of all, it runs off USB power & eliminated the MyBooks wall wart.
