Hello all! This is my 1st post here and i hope this is the correct area for a post like this. I have decided to get a little more serious about my PC audio and was hoping some of you could throw out some good info for me? I have currently only been using a soundcard with some PC Logitech speakers for listening to music so I think it's time to get something a bit better. After about a week of reading through reviews, forums and other web-sites, I was leaning towards some KRK Rokit 5's. The room I will be in is about 10' X 12' and I was thinking the 5's would be plenty for that space? My other choices were the Audioengine A5+ or the Vanatoo Transparent One. All have some real nice reviews but the KRK's are front ported (my desk is against a wall) and I enjoy some good bass with my music. Any comments on speaker choice? This set-up will be stricktly for listening. I will not be doing any studio stuff.
Second question- If i do go with the KRK Rokit 5's, what is a good DAC I could use for my set-up? I was trying to look for 1 that would allow for a 1/4 headphone jack and also take the XLR plugs that the KRK's offer. Any good ideas for this?
Again, I am new to all of this and greatly appreciate anyone that can steer me in the correct path. Thank you all in advance!
