  1. I did not know that you could not update memory later so I will do that. Very glad I asked my question and many thanks. The Mini config will now buy will be: 3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB SDRAM, 1TB Fusion Drive. One last question. I has planning on accessing my downloaded audio files via AFP from my Synology NAS drive connected through my 1 gb wired network network rather than keep the files on the local Mac Mini drive. The other option would keep them locally on the Mini and backup to the synology. Any thoughts?
  2. As my title states, I am new to all this and have spent some time reading this forum just to get up to speed. WOW! Lots of data to digest. As you can see in my profile I have Parasound Pre-amp and Amp and want to start dipping my toe into the computer audiophile adventure. I plan to purchase a Mac Mini and Amarra SW connecting it via USB to my Pre-amp. I plan to start downloading a variety of hi-def audio and start my listening journey. I am hoping to experience a jump in listening quality as I am currently playing my music via iTunes (apple losses via airplay or Sonos) with my iMac. My question to the forum is if this the best bang for the buck to jump into to the fray and gain experience/jump in audio quality as I have limited funds at my disposal right now? TIA JD
