I have just completed connecting my QB9 DSD 20 and my QX-5 20 (as a DAC only) to my KX-5 20 preamp so I can compare them in my main system by only switching the preamp inputs. I will report back next weekend.

CG I have had issues with my ISO REGEN connected to my QX-5 20 as you described earlier, original USB REGEN functions normally. I installed a simple on/off switch in the power line providing power to the ISO REGEN. Normally power to the ISO REGEN is always on. If there is a problem I cycle the power off and back on to the ISO REGEN and it then works fine till the next time. What is so weird is that I have not had any issues with either REGEN when connected to my QB-9 20!

jma2 I am 99% sure both the REGEN and ISO REGEN generate its own clean 5v for usb output.

Mine came back about 2 weeks ago and has been in use since it arrived, no issues at all. Sunday I connected my QB-9 20 to one of the Balanced inputs of my Kx-5 20 and connected my QB-9 DSD to another balanced input. All I had to do id move the usb connector from one to the other to compare between them, everything else in stream is identical. The upgraded QB-9 20 was well worth the upgrade and as others said it is fantastic, I could not be more pleased with the upgrade..

I know it arrived but has not returned as of yet.

MY QB-9 DSD is in transit to Ayre for the 20 Upgrade, scheduled for Sept 3. Will report when it returns.

Just a quick question. I am looking at purchasing a N10 and would like to know when playing music in a "random sequence" can it be done by Songs as well as by Albums.

I have been using a Codex in my office most every day since 2015 without any issues at all. It is being used as a pre amp to Focal Monitors and most of the time as a Balanced Headphone amp. I have had Zero issues at all.

bluebeat I used a Wireworld Platinum starlight with my Ayre QX-5 20 and was extremely happy. I have tried 2 configurations on the Lush 2 that were not really any better, The third A: B-Y & W-R , B: B-Y was as Peter described earlier and lasted for 4 days. I then changed to A: B-W-Y-R , B: B-W-R, now 7 day ago. When i listen to Channel Classics CCS SA19503 “ La Stravaganza”, which I have many times, as best I can describe, it now “feels and sounds” as if Rachel Podger and Arte Dei Suonatori are in the room with me.

The OPPO 105d will play and decode HDCD CDs.(Verified with Reference Recordings RR-136). At this time I do not use the OPPO as the DAC for my computer system but I would expect it would also decode HDCD through it digital inputs also. I will try to reconfigure my system next week to verify it works with the computer.

I am using a LI fe 2s 5000mha battery with my Regen. This battery is 6.6 v nominal and does not need a regulator. I only recharge it about once a week. LI fe cells are much more stable than the Lipo cells. I prefer this setup to the HDPLEX LPS set at 7.5 v.
