  1. Has anyone installed drivers for Berkeley Alpha USB on 2012R2 with AO? I'm getting an incompatibility error when installing the driver provided Berkeley. I spoke to Berkeley who has had other customers experience the same problem; they indicated that the source of the problem is AO (and that others have found workarounds.)
  2. Hmm, I'm not familiar with JRiver forum users, but "mojave" says the opposite: Tidal Music Service via JRiver?
  3. How would I connect a JS-2 to my DAC using a dual-headed USB cable?
  4. Thanks, exactly what I needed to know.
  5. I asked on an Aurender thread and didn't get a response, so I'm hoping you can provide some user experience insight. I returned an Aries because its implementation of Tidal is poor. Could you (or any Aurender/Tidal user) confirm that the following Aries issues do or do not exist on Aurender? 1) Various Artist albums do not display individual artist names (or when applicable, their respective album names either). 2) Individual artist names do appear on Tidal-curated playlists, but not on playlists I create. 3) In addition to missing artist names on playlists I create, their respective albums are missing (the latter applies also to Tidal-curated playlists). 4) On any various artist album display, I want to be able to link to any artist and/or album on that particular album. This includes Tidal-curated playlists (which does include individual artists, but the names/albums are not linkable.) 5) Related Artists section on an artist page is missing. 6) Artist description is missing (when Tidal provides one). 7) Album overview is missing ( when Tidal provides one). Thanks for any help.
  6. If I may ask, why would one prefer this over, let's say, for example, an HDPlex LPS at three times the cost? I assume very few have tried both, so I guess I'm looking for a specs comparison at this point.
  7. Ok, thanks. In that case I guess it's now a question of whether or not the difference between 2012r2 with AO in GUI mode is significantly better than 2012r2 without AO. I would appreciate some comments from those that have made this comparison. I realize core or minimal is preferred.
  8. Are browsers active when AO is in use? (presumably in GUI mode?) If it is, has anyone tried running Tidal's web interface? Does allowing all the elements of the OS required to run a browser (and Tidal's web interface) reduce the effectiveness of AO to the point of making it only minimally better than not running AO (on 2012R2) at all? I believe I read that I can allow Tidal's native app (like JRiver, for instance) in minimal-server mode (or perhaps even core mode?), but Tidal's web interface is preferred.
  9. Brian, Will Aurender's pending integration of Tidal include the ability to see both local files and Tidal catalog (in a single view) as Spotify does with its app? Similarly, will the search function in Aurender's app populate data from both local library and Tidal catalog? Thanks.
  10. Can anyone compare its volume control to a high end preamp (e.g. ARC Ref5SE or CJ Gat/Act2, etc)? What does Berkeley recommend?
  11. I just bought an Aries and will be returning it. Sound quality is fine, but its Tidal integration (i.e. the only reason I bought an Aries) is, well, poor. I have the following issues with it: 1) Various Artist albums do not display individual artist names (or when applicable, their respective album names either). This includes Tidal-curated playlists (which does include individual artists, but the names are not linkable.) 5) Related Artists section on an artist page is missing. 6) Artist description is missing (when Tidal provides one). 7) Album overview is missing ( when Tidal provides one). Now, admittedly, none of these issues prevent an enjoyment of Tidal, but given my extensive use of playlists (my own and Tidal's) the first four are actually important to me. And for me, I find the fifth issue (Related Artists) an valuable tool for discovering new music. Can Aurender users of Tidal verify that these would not be an issue? Thanks.
  12. This friend, is he a CA member and does his/her handle start with the letter "G", end with the letter "X" and have the letter "T" in the middle? Just curious.
  13. So why should anyone select a N100 over X100?
  14. Did you guys try digital out from Transporter to an outboard DAC? It would be interesting to discover which sounds better - Aries USB to DAC X or Transporter AES to DAC X (using Tidal only). I'm almost exclusively Tidal (with an occasional dip into my local library) so its UI/functionality is the most important feature (after sound quality, of course.) While the native Tidal desktop app is a bit clunky, I've grown accustomed to it (especially its playlist discovery and management.)
