What is jitter? Is it a good thing?

I've got the latest one; the 2012 version.

My current setup is an Airport Express connected directly to the Albarry M408 amplifiers, which in turn are connected to a pair of humungous Roland speakers. I've recently been told that I absolutely need a DAC, and I've been recommended the Metrum Octave MKII. What is your opinion of the specific DAC, and which one do you recommend. I mostly stream Qobuz from my Mac via Airplay.

Thanks Cebolla. I think I might just get an Airport Express as my main router. -

I have the TP-Link TD-W8968. Quite a cheap modem/router. Perhaps a better one would solve the problem. But presuming that the problem were solved, would it be worth buying, say, a Sonos Connect or an Auralic Aries for streaming Qobuz and Spotify and the occasional 24bit Flac, or would I be better off with what I already have? -

My WiFi coverage is fine, and the Airplay works fine - when it works. The only problem is that quite often my Mac can't see the Airport Express, and I have to reset the latter in order to make it work again. And I can only stream Qobuz from my Mac. I would prefer to be able to stream Qobuz from all my devices. Is there anything better than Sonos Connect for someone who mostly streams Qobuz and Spotify, and the occasional 24bit Flac. What about AURALiC ARIES? -
I want to stream music from Qobuz and Spotify from my Mac or Android phone, wirelessly to my stereo system. I have an Airport Express connected to my Amps, and I mirror the audio from my Mac via Airplay, but that is very unstable, and I am looking into upgrading. I am considering the Sonos Connect (ZP90), but I'm wondering whether there is anything better in the market. What do you recommend?
