  1. I believe home sharing is bit perfect and doesn't transcode so should work great for my needs. This is a relief because I know working with SMB on a Mac isn't always the most pleasant experience and updates have caused issues time and time again. (At least when working with Windows shares with a Mac) Maybe this is different with iOS. Out of curiosity what SMB hardware and software are you guys using to stream to iOS?
  2. Thanks for your input! I don't believe this would be an advantage for me since I don't play FLAC files unless Home Sharing isn't bit perfect. This would also require extra software on my Mac and iPhone and I have no issues with the layout of iTunes and iOS music app.
  3. I know that the iPhone will support 24/48 ALAC music files synced from iTunes but how about over home sharing? 24/96 over home sharing isn't possibe like it is with the iPad correct? Does home sharing transcode other formats to ALAC like AirPlay? Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!
