  2. Thank you all guys! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I'm not sure if mine has S/PDIF. Will have to check my sound card. The sound card is Realtek. It has 3 small inputs at the back. Green, Pink, Blue i think.. Is it possible to have extra card just for Coax and Optical? I have to research more about this! Yikes! Thanks Mrvco!
  4. Hi Mrcvo, just wondering about Coax and Optical but i don't think if my soundcard is capable with this. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks Mrvco.. By the way, is it better to use USB than RCA when connecting DAC to PC? I seem to have problem when connecting hardware to my USB ports.. I seem to hear some RF when listening to headphones. Also, it does give a very minimal noise (HF) in my music when i have a few hardware connected to my USB. Anyway to fix this? My motherboard is ASUS and my soundcard is Realtek. Dunno i have 6 usb ports at the back and 2 at the front. Though i have yet to try usb dac first to check if i will encounter the same problem. Will see. So, it would be nice if i have option for other connection like RCA or anything better.
  6. Thanks for the info! I'm very clueless about this digital audio. So, i'm not familiar with technology, terms and stuff. This site is very helpful but it opened up a can of worms to me! I'm more into analogue but due to my setup right now and my 90% record collection not present i have to listen more to my digital source. Right now, i'm researching about software, how to tidy up my files and stuff. I would really like to have a decent digital setup in the next couple of months. Good thing i found this site! I'm checking this site. Schiit Audio, Headphone amps and DACs made in USA.. They have Modi and Loki for almost $300. Looks good as well. Will try to read more about iFi and other Dacs that was mentioned here. Thank you guys! If you have other advice please post here.
  7. Thanks for the link.. I'm not familiar with DSD. Since my file sources are only 320kbps and a few flac would getting a DSD DAc recommended?
  8. Nice! I came upon this Tube DACs Maverick Audio Online Shop any maveric tube dac users here? thanks again guys!
  9. Thanks guys! Will check the Meridian DAC. Sorry forgot about the budget, i would like to get a good DAC for $200-$300. I know it's not a lot but i hope there is a good one that can match my system. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Hi guys, Newbie here. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the information this forum has about digital audio/computer audio. I've been looking for DAC lately to upgrade my system. Right now, i have 2 sources. Turntable and PC. Before, when i was using powered speakers i usually listen to records more often but now i have my entry level system complete i keep on listening to my digital source more. Maybe because my phono preamp doesn't match my system and it sounds flat than my digital setup! I'm not familiar with computer audio so i hope everyone would give me some advice. My digital files are MP3's and a few FLAC's. I like FLAC better though. I tend to get 320kbps files because of my internet connection. My modest setup is NAD 326Bee / Monitor Audio BX2 / Windows 7 on i3 CPU / Cheap speaker cables and IC's.. My PC is connected using a 3.5mm to 2 RCA jack to NAD MP input. I know this is not that great but i'm happy with this setup so far. I use Windows Mediaplayer and Mediamonkey to play music. I'm not familiar with other audiophile softwares yet. Maybe you can also give me some advice about media players. Free would be nice. I want to build a computer setup that would give more details, neutral to warm character to my current setup. Hopefully i could find a good DAC that would match and that would not cost me an arm or leg. Thank you!
