Thanks, pooger. I'm strongly considering the Constellation Inspiration amp (maybe mono). Really like the sound of it's more expensive sibling, Centaur. Hopefully will be able to demo before too long.

I'm wondering if anyone with experience listening to the Berkeley RS DAC can offer an opinion on if you prefer to have a separate preamp with this or go directly and bypass preamp (use Berkeley as the preamp). I have ordered the DAC and await arrival in the next month or 2. Any thoughts on this would be MUCH appreciated! As for system, I have Rockport Atria speakers but I am likely upgrading amp (and maybe preamp) to better match with overall system in the process. So I'm quite interested in any views on this. I will definitely do some test listening with and without preamp (with the wonderful folks at Goodwin's in Boston area) but would love other's views of this issue. Thanks! Justin

I am a proud of owner Berkeley Series 2 DAC and I'm now forced to consider upgrading to RS. Chris, I thought your review was informative and great, and I welcome any additional thoughts on the difference between Ser 2 and RS. I think might just need to pull the trigger.

First post (long time lurker). Big deadhead and I downloaded 24x192 today. This recording is beyond good. To my ears, this is the finest sounding live dead release ever. Easily. Wait until you hear Branford on Bird Song, Eyes, Dark Star. If you like the Dead and you like hi Rez, buying this in 192 is a home run. Funny, this show's Eyes of the World is one my favorite music moments ever - I lost myself in this track in high school, in college, and now in my late 30s it is still fresh as ever. It is one of my go to tracks when listening to audio components. and please trust me, it has never sounded like this release. This is exciting - I can only hope there is more Dead live stuff to come out that sounds like this. the dead as I have never heard them before. Enjoy. I am just so happy that this magical show is now ours in this quality, to enjoy forever.
