I recommend the NAD D7050 so highly that I use one for my patio zone and another at my office. AirPlay or Ethernet. Not sure about aptX but maybe. Simple app so completely hands off. I listen lots to Pandora and next to jriver to serve up my media. I'm a bit head but love the simplicity and sound quality of this model. Sort of an integrated amp with all the modern whistles.

It's sad all the way around. Music is simple with limited notes composed in certain fashions. Glad the judge ruled that LZ did not steal from Taurus. Like others have said, it's not just the notes but the way the notes are played and by whom.

AirFoil is a streaming service. I already have a streaming service in Pandora and don't believe I need another one. The DLNA interface is what I want to work out. After listening to AirPlay input, switched over to computer source, JRemote to jriver with multiple files up to 24/96 without any problems or clicks or hangups. Did not change anything on jriver side since my choosing a DSD file in error caused havoc a few days ago. Able to push multiple artists and albums to the NAD on Saturday and Sunday without any problems. My honey do's got in the way of my figuring this out further this weekend. Will try again soon.

My unit arrived Monday night in great shape and in original box. Had music playing within 15 minutes of unboxing. Had previously set up new DLNA server in jriver 21 with SetNEXT disabled, L16 no header, everything converted to 44.1Khz, and tied this renderer to this NAD server. Unit came up as zone choice within a minute and everything was playing great, able to advance tracks, go back to tracks. Then I messed things up when I accidentally chose a DSD file and then silence. Had to power off, unplug, and restart the 7050. I use wired Ethernet but music didn't sound great. So it was time to try AirPlay. Wow is all my ears could say with much better music quality. Was using my iPad and then my iphone6. Music app playing via AirPlay is working perfectly. Downloaded the Nad 7050 app to my iPad and iPhone and was able to see what was going on at unit. The app works perfectly choosing source, adjusting volume, or powering unit off. Just discovered that simply opening my Music app on the iPhone and choosing AirPlay to the Nad, it turns on automatically and automatically sets input to AirPlay. It's now Wednesday night and I'm streaming Pandora via AirPlay to the d7050 and it sounds good. Don't have to worry about transcoding, or DLNA incompatibilities. My Graham Nash pandora station is perfect! more reporting this weekend as I'm determined to get DLNA figured out reliably.

Can't thank you guys enough for this thread. Just ordered the NAD D7050 to run my patio speakers via Ethernet from JRMC with JRemote. Added second DLNA server and waiting for my 7050 to arrive.

I had same question about 6 years ago. I'm on my third high performance music and graphic arts server located upstairs with my listening room downstairs. Ethernet is my method of rendering 2 channel and multichannel files from my server to my Oppo 105 player? I enjoy building my own computers very much and got quickly bored by the small toy appliances like Rasp PI.

Got everything set up properly. My antivirus went crazy with some of these .exe files! Was able to run but no tracks output. Edited config file from original setting of 100 and tried 150 then 200 but still no tracks output. I consider myself very proficient with computer software and hardware, but this alternate method will not work with this Pentatone sacd. Was able to use bogi's method to test other ISO files so I know this Disc alone is my problem. After messing with it for a few hours, no more buying Pentatone sacd's unless I just want to listen to them on my oppo 105. By the way this disc sounds really excellent! thanks for your help but no cigar with this disc and the PS3 method.

After using my PS3 and the Sonore iso2dsd application from ISO files and over the network for about 50 sacd's I have finally run into a disc that doesn't want to cooperate. Pentatone PTC 5186 095. Tchaikovsky violin concerto Julie Fischer RNO Kreizberg hybrid multichannel. Country code NL. 8 tracks. SACD Plays perfectly in my oppo 105. PS3 can play disc. When I run SACD-ripper on the PS3 not in server mode, tells me to insert sacd disc which I do, but cannot recognize disc. When I run sacd-ripper in network mode, ps3 sees disc inserted and I can execute Sonore iso2sacd to make the ISO file. when I run iso2dsd with channel mode multi and output mode Sony DSF, it seems to read the ISO file properly showing disc info, ISRC tracks, says processing track 1/8 but that's as far as it will go. No percentages and no errors are displayed. Tried this several times waiting up to 30 minutes. It does created folder name for the music but no content in the folder. Tried running output mode DSDIFF Edit Master and it processed and created one large 2.8GB DFF file rather than 8 individual files. My Jriver will play this DFF file on my PC but it will not play over my Ethernet network to my oppo. Tried using dBpoweramp to convert the DFF to FLAC but get error saying DFF file is uncompressed. hoping someone has experience solving a similar problem. Thanks in advance.

Is multichannel feature a likely option on the PS Directstream?

Love my dbpoweramp for file conversions from or to most formats. Also runs in batch mode. Uses multicore CPUs to speed things along.

was a skeptic until I tried a ps audio Perfectwave p3 Powerplant for all except my amps. Black background with more open soundstage. Very satisfied. Not many regenerators are sold used so that tells you most buyers feel good value for money. Good luck.
