  1. Sorry, perhaps my question wasn't specific enough and I'm left unclear about your answer. I understand that the audio will be resembled at source, but will the volume and eq be altered at source also? If so, then the audio can only ever be as good as the digital to analogue conversion (and reconversion) at source.
  2. Thanks for that. So presumably that means if you start altering the EQ or volume on your streaming device (ipad or iPhone, say) then the audio output from the Apple TV isn't actually affected?
  3. Hi all, I'm new on here. I've been scouring past threads to try to learn a bit more about the processing that's done on audio files between the source and the output of an Apple TV. I'm aware of the up processing to 48khz, which I guess involves some in-device DAC and then ADC. I guess this may introduce some change in the sound quality (someone talked about issues in a particular frequency range, which seemed a bit odd if the processing was just a resampling exercise). The thing I can't seem to work out is whether the Apple TV or other device in the loop does any other significant signal processing along the way. For example, if operated in that mode, would the volume or EQ function in your apple device kick in, or is it a relatively "pure" signal transfer? Now, I should say I don't know much about how airplay works, but I'm more than aware that playing audio via Bluetooth from your apple device introduces some (sometime horrible) signal processing, which I wouldn't be happy with for hifi sound. Sorry it's going over another subject again, but I think my query is coming from a slightly different angle than some of the other threads. thanks
