I appreciate feature requests that improve usability. Also regarding new features and functions. What I do not like (at all) is when features get removed from softwares (this goes for all softwares, not only audio related).

there are no poor filters in HQP. There are only different filters. The default settings are top notch. Stay with these and be done. Cool! That's less people coming here to leave questionable feature requests 😉 In all seriousness - options are exactly that: options. You don't have to try out every possible combination of settings. Me personally I love the wide varity of options although I very rarely change settings (matrix pipline a lot but filters very rarely, more or less only when I switch from speakers to headphones). Implementing a customizable favorite list of filters is alreay on Miskas road map.

    HQP v 5.6.0 ❤️
  4. My post wasn't meant as a call for you to buy and measure an SDA-6 pro 2 😀 Me personally I also have no desire at all to replace my SDA-6 pro (original AK4499). I just came across that article and thought using 2 AK4499EX chips and bypassing the AK4191 part for the DSD pipeline might be a clever idea to avoid the issues you've discovered with the AK4499EX.
  5. maybe this is the reason why the Singxer SDA-6 pro 2 doesn‘t have said limitations? (don‘t know… just came across this article) https://www.stereocheck.com/news/hifi/singxer-sda-6-pro2-balanced-dac-based-on-ak4499ex/?amp=1 its D/A conversion stage is based on two AKM AK4499EX DAC chips combined with an AK4191 digital filter. They support high-resolution streams up to PCM 32Bit 768 kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. The DSD stream operates in NOS (Non Over Sampling) mode without passing through the AK4191 filter to preserve the original signal as much as possible.

can't say it's "really necessary" ... but I also prefer sorting Artist -> Album by Year ascending from early to recent. Fortunately that's a sorting option in HQPDcontrol; would be just as cool for Client.
  7. You are right! I forgot the term "direct DSD" is used to describe chip/DAC behavior (volume bypass etc.) as well as it is colloquially used to describe the connection path from computer to DAC. I use the iFi audio app quite a lot and my connection path is called "direct DSD", so this is what I am stupidly used to in the meantime. Apologies!
  8. That might be correct. But I suspect you are mixing "native" and "direct" DSD. While the new 4499EX might only play native DSD128 and DSD256 the DSD path connection to the DAC can still be direct (non DoP) for other rates.
  9. Singxer is a zero marketing and no bullshit company with a strong track record in Xmos development etc. So if you are not refering to the customer service of a reseller but to Singxer company itself (Leter Chen) I'd expect the information to be accurate.

HQPDcontrol (iOS + Android app) provides almost all the features of Client and you can also sort by Album-Artist->Year (personally I also prefer this sorting)

I do not have this issue. My album covers all show up correctly independent of the transport mode

HQP has two different playback modes: Album transport and Playlist transport. If you play an album in Album transport mode (e.g. by short clicking on the album icon in Clients album view) you can‘t add albums or tracks. If you clear your playlist and add the first album the way I described above („add to playlist“ not „play album“) HQP is running in Transport mode and you can add anything you want.

In album view do not click, but long press on the album icon. A window pops up and you can add either the entire album or single tracks to HQPs play queue
  14. Same with my Singxer SDA-6 pro. However, I absolutely love the Intonas for being "piece of mind" components. If there's something to clean up they do exactly that. And if not they do nothing. You don't have to worry an Intona in the chain degrades the sound. So I use one also with the Singxer DAC.
