  1. Can any QB9 version (non-DSD old) be upgradeable to Twenty? Also at the same cost? How long the waiting list is?
  2. A correspondences with AMR on April 2017... (1) My initial inquiry: Do you have a plan to upgrade DP-777/777SE to support DSD anytime soon? [Reply from AMR] With regards to DSD and AMR yes something is in the works but it will not be ready until after the iDSD Pro which is around August. (2) My 2nd inquiry: Can I upgrade my existing DP-777 to DSD version, similar to SE upgrade? [Reply from AMR] At AMR we don't want customers to purchase new machine for upgrades, its always PCB related so yes you'll be able to upgrade your machine just like the SE :-) I hope DSD upgraded DP-777 can handle DSD512...
  3. Anybody tried to compare T+A DAC8DSD with the following DACs? -Holo Spring DAC (level III) with both high res PCM and DSD265 or DSD512 HQP upsampled sources -PS Audio DirectStream / Torray with redbook and high res PCM and DSD -AMR DP-777SE (only PCM though) with redbook or high res PCM -Schiit Yggy with redbook or high res PCM
  4. Network player such as Pioneer N-30/50 could be a lot better solution. I have compared following 1) and 2) config 1) mac mini/audirvana+ > USB cable > AMR DP-777 USB port > ATC SCM20 active speaker 2) mac mini/windows 7 + Serviio > ethernet cable > Pioneer N-30 network player > AMR DP-777 coaxial input > ATC speaker and found 2) is much better sounding... You can control everything from your iphone or ipad as well.
  5. My very first post here... My previous setting was Mac mini/Audirvana+ > Wireworld USB cable > AMR DP-777 USB input > AMR passive preamp section of DP-777 > ATC SCM 20 active speakers. It produced fairly convincing sound but I recently added new device, Pioneer N-30 network player. My current setting is Mac mini/Win 7 + Serviio DLNA server > ethernet cable > Pioneer N-30 > AMR DP-777 coaxial input > AMR passive preamp section > ATC speakers. The sound became more refined and convincing. Although I cannot pin point the sound from the previous setting was not 100% satisfying. I switched Puremusic to Audirvana plus as it was more convenient to play flac files on mac but still I wasn't 100% happy with the sound. Adding Pioneer N-30 in the chain, now I think I fixed the problem and plus playing files are very very convenient using either iphone or ipad. I can listen to the music all day long. I paid only $300 for N-30 and this is by far wisest investment I made. You can have similar set up using Squeezebox or Oppo but to me Pioneer N-30 (or N-50 with digital inputs) is the very best. Highly recommended for those DP-777 owners as well as any other high end DAC owners. Ethernet is way better than USB I think...
