    HQ Player

Thanks Keith - great info - I was hoping to do bi quad filters using lspcad but I haven't looked into HQ player in any depth yet to see if that is possible I bet you are getting a great result - this seems to me to be the perfect marriage of digital source and active speakers. how are you doing volume control cheers, Phil

    HQ Player

thanks bibo - as I understand it it is possible to do this with hapi with the correct card - my question was really : does the HQ player work with the ravenna protocol and can you map the 8 channels inside HQ player- I can see that was not clear I understand that this approach will need a powerfull computer cheers Phil

    HQ Player

apologies if this has been addressed previously but I was wondering if after doing the speaker crossover convolution in HQ player you can send the 8 separate channels via ethernet to a merging technologies happi dac using ravenna thanks Phil
  5. Hi All - I have been down the path of the lightspeed ( lacking body) and total dac ( too dark, lacking clarity and sparkle) then upgraded to curious , then to Regen with short curious to DAC and now I have moved to Samsung Pro 850 ssd external hard drive powered by uptone JS2 and connected with Curious - every step has been a marked improvement ( much to my surprise after getting the Nagra HD DAC) in detail, foundation and just plain musicality. I never experienced any problems with connectivity. So I agree with the cloth ears about adding the curious to the external hard drive/PC connection. Interestingly when I had spinning drives I thought the esata connection with cheap cables to be equal but SSD exposed the difference. Of course as always the result can depend on the system but in this case I seemed to get more detail each time which I believe always leads to a more live sound. Cheers, Phil
  6. You are quite right - I ended up getting 2 JS-2 units to run my dual PC set up as one could not quite do 2 PC's - i used the extra power for the hard drive caddy ( big improvement over a very decent battery much to my surprise) and the regen (which with the supplied PSU and CC cables I did not think was much of a change) - happy camper now ! you always wonder how system dependant this all is ? cheers, Phil
  7. GroovyB - my take is that with the CC cables you need a really good PSU to allow the regen to shine - I found the change to the JS2 worked well in my case Cheers, Phil
  8. Hi - has anyone used AO in a 2 PC setup with a Nagra HD DAC - I have loaded up drivers the combo 384 amanero and it works fine in GUI mode but when I convert to core mode it won't play - J Play shows asio 384 combo - could this be a problem with R12 or do I need to delete the sonicweld drivers I have had it playing fine in kernel streaming from a sonicweld USB convertor Thanks Phil
  9. Alex - I have this cable and it clearly trumps the lightspeed - does it really matter if it meets usb impedance specifications - what warranty claims might arise if it did not - just curious .... Cheers, Phil
  10. Thanks Pewter - I was under the impression that the eval copy ran 2 pc's and thought this was the same edition - looks like the most economical is 2 copies of essential unless there is a standard edition that runs on 2 - pretty hard to figure that out from microsoft blurb
  11. Sorry if this has been asked before but is the server 2012 edition that can run on dual PC's P73-06165 Thanks Phil
