  1. In the fall of 1993 my then-girlfriend (now wife) and I were visiting friends in the Bay Area and one of them had been invited to Jim's house so we all went. We spent much of a Sunday afternoon there, where Jim passed around one of his Leicas, served us whiskey and insisted I dry-fire his Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum so I could admire its action, which was indeed very smooth. We spent some time looking at his contact sheets and I ordered a print of Jerry Garcia at Woodstock, a well-known shot. He was supposed to ship the print to me in NYC but in the end he called and said he was coming to town and would bring it with him and we could meet for drinks. We ended up going to dinner and had another wonderful time. Jim was indeed very funny and chock full of wild stories, some of which I kind of believed. We will never forget the two occasions we got to spend time with Jim. And man, those photos! Thanks so much for sharing your memories!
  2. Cool. I'm more of a Mac guy anyway. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks Jesus. What about Mac HFS+ and NTFS? Btw, I ordered a unit a few days ago. I don't expect to use MPD (I currently run LMS, minimserver and JRMC so no shortage of choices) but I'm curious about it and it could come in handy.
  4. What drive formats are supported in MPD?
  5. Mine also passes the PS Audio bit perfect test with my Direct Stream DAC, using JRiver MC 20 Mac and JRemote.
  6. Thanks Chris. That's what I thought. It would be great if someone would come up with an I2S adaptor that is easy to implement. I won't hold my breath.
  7. I assume there is no way to configure the HDMI port as I2S for use with PS Audio and similar DACs that use HDMI connectors for that purpose? (I'd be shocked but you've worked so many miracles already.)
  8. The orange case to which Chris links is metal. Others offer plastic cases. Does the metal case offer any advantages (e.g., EMI shielding?) or does it not matter?
  9. Fair enough (and yes that is not my native tongue but I get the drift). Thanks Chris!
  10. Something like this that they sell for use with this unit (it was mentioned in a prior post): UWN200 b/g/n USB wireless adapter | Logic Supply
  11. This is great, Chris. It looks like even a simpleton such as myself could do this as you've made it all extremely easy. If you wanted to connect with a USB dongle, how would you go about configuring it to connect to your network (if, like me, you have no Linux experience)? I suppose you could connect it to a monitor and keyboard but then what?
