  1. Thanks for the advice guys. I will start playing with different filters now. I'm using the online help info from the hqp OS menu to figure out if the filter is ok or not, using only filters with any in both columns for now. I have a FifoPi Q2 Ultimate and the manual for it claims to support the 24k frequency family, and it has a place for the 2nd clock, so not sure why its not working. Could be my solder job, I'll pull the stack apart at some point and double check everything. Randy
  2. Works thanks. Used poly sinc long lp. I had unchecked auto rate before, but probably not with output rate set to right value
  3. Can't play 48k material. Running HQ OS version 4.29.1 If I try to play 48k material, best case is I get silence. Worst case is PC freezes. And its really frozen, have to hold the power button down for many seconds to turn off, where I can normally just push the power button. Tried different filters this morning, didn't help. Really don't know what else to do. Any tips would be appreciated, but please be specific. I've already looked at the help page to try to figure out what filter to use, changing filters made no difference. SDM Output to a pi NAA to a Ian canada DAC. My DAC should work with 48k sources, but its not. Different problem though since HQP should translate from 48k to 44.1k, and I can't figure out why it doesn't work for me TIA Randy
  4. Oh, that makes sense. I remember when I was building the PC back in 2019, there were some linux driver issues. At the time, the wifi interface didn't work. I'll send email with old license info, and new key number. Thanks Randy
  5. ip address changing isn't a big deal to me, what I don't understand is why the mac address is changing And I really only included that as a possible reason for the fingerprint changing. I tried to upload the license file, but it didn't work because the fingerprint changed, so it wasn't recognized. That is really the problem I'm trying to figure out here. But thanks for the answers. Randy
  6. I'm running hqp OS installed on a usb stick I boot my PC from. Still on version 4.13.0, so decided it was time to upgrade to latest version. But when I made a new stick for 4.29.1, after I installed the license file it was still in trial mode. Figured out it was because the fingerprint changed. I went back and forth a few times, and its consistent, fingerprint is different between the two versions. This is booting from usb stick on same PC. But I also found that the mac address changes when I change versions, so it also comes up on a different ip address. Wondering if anybody has run into this before? Randy
  7. You could post a question to Jussi in the HQ Player thread at Software about this. Seems strange to me that changing mods impacts the pops, but I never tried changing them when I had pops. Randy
  8. I don't use roon, I wouldn't think it would matter though. It also seems like some dacs are worse than others for pops, but I thought mine was pretty susceptible to them FWIW, 256 is worse than 128 for pops. I don't run at 512.
  9. I'm pretty sure I'm still using what I said here https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/55235-gentooplayer/page/26/?tab=comments#comment-1020232 To get here, I started by listening to all the different kernels, and found the ones that had the fewest pops. Took notes to keep track of relative pops and subjective sound rating. Then, I picked the low pop kernel that I liked the sound of best, and then went through the profiles, and was able to find a profile that had no pops. EDIT: Its not as hard as it sounds. Maybe I judged sound pretty quickly, but pops were easy to judge in my setup.
  10. My dietpi config info here https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/vendor-s-bazaar/337859-shanti-dual-lps-5v-3a-5v-1-5a-92.html#post5963277 You might want to try the 7ec or 5ec mods at dsd256. Takes a high end PC, I7 or I9 at high clock speed. I never run 512 myself, current processors can't do 512 with the ec mods.
  11. Yes, I manually set CPU speed in dietpi and got rid of pops. I use hqp4, I'm only getting pops at 256. Gentooplayer supports naa as well as other players.
  12. You can try this software gentooplayer Link takes you to end of thread. In the last 5-10 pages, there is discussion of using this sw and eliminating the pops from usbridge sig I was able to get dietpi to be pop free, but I like gentooplayer better.
  13. Thanks for the instructions I tried this, and had some small pops. So I selected kernel 4 and Profile Select 4 (my previous selections), and no pops. Randy
  14. If you have a monitor connected, dietpi displays its ip address when it boots up. Did you see that?
  15. Well if you go with embedded, you can use a usb stick with HQP OS on it, and boot from that when you want to run HQP. Then have a SSD with Linux for anything else. I started with Ubuntu/Embedded but I use HQP OS now and am very happy with it. They are both viewed as embedded versions, so same license covers them. Randy
