@gstew It’s powering RPI #2 (player connected to Dac). The most immediate positive sonic improvement was the Bass becoming fuller & tighter, never heard before sounds popping out of my reference albums :). I still need to spend more time listening to it & give a confirmation. But yeah in brief, what I mentioned above definitely is a step up. True, our systems are topologically similar. I’ve been eyeing the Soekris 1941 DAM (Balanced), not sure if it does i2s.

Gents, I’m happy to confirm that the LPS 1.2 is successfully powering a RPI4. Been playing music for an hour without any hiccups. FYI, I’m running a Server and Player setup, RPI #1 server (4TB Music HDD) running LMS & RPI #2 Player (connected to Dac) running Picoreplayer, Squeezelite if you will. Its possible due to the OS being very lean it’s not overloading the LPS 1.2. YMMV.

Hi Greg, I purchased a “used” IR in Oct 21, but only managed to try hookin it up last month Aug 22. I have a Denafrips Ares II Dac & RPI4 (picoreplayer OS). The IR is unable to do a “handshake”, in fact tried out several tests to conclude the health of this unit but the results were not positive. a) Removing the LPS-1.2 from the chain and powering the ISO REGEN directly from the UpTone-branded 36W AC>DC power adapter brick (normally used to “energize”/charge the LPS-1.2 unit). b) Putting the red switch of the ISO REGEN into the up (‘ON’) position. c) A different USB cable from the RPI4 streamer to the input of the ISO REGEN. d) Also tried using USPCB A>B Adapter from the ISO REGEN into the Denafrips Ares II DAC, with its tiny VBUS switch still in the “ON”position. e) Finally, On a Macbook pro I plugged in an USB thumb drive into the IR's output, with & without the USPCB (see attached pic). The IR is still unable to mount the drive. FWIW, The thumb drive has a red led indicator as you can see in the pics, which lights up when its installed correctly. I had to fiddle a bit with the IR's output to get that red indicator light up, yet no luck mounting the thumb drive.

I did fill the country code as “IN” & also given a SSID password, does it need to be the same password that my router has been set with or a new one? I’m wondering, since I followed the links & settings given in your thread which encouraged wired Ethernet connection. Should I just wipe the slate (SDXC card) clean & start from scratch? -

@bobfa @audiobomber Guys, I tried installing WiFi but for some reason it didn’t work. This was just a quick attempt as I was in a hurry. Pls see the attached pic, “WiFi information” “ IP missing” What am I missing out? -

Bob, any specific reason why you shifted from wired Ethernet cables to WiFi? Which brings me to an important question, I have to connect the (client) RPI4 to the dac, For which I will have to drag a wire all thru the room, walls, door frame etc. I would like to avoid doing this (Ethernet wiring over walls). Is it possible to use some kind of Ethernet extender? Like a Dlink Dir 505? -
Can I use this cable https://www.ghentaudio.com/part/dc-gac4.html to pair the IR with LPS 1.2?

What are the basic settings everyone's using on Lxqt? I have 15. SET realtime priority to extreme 21. SET Cpu governor.... ( set to Intel pstate as my MBP has a 2.9ghz Intel core i7 cpu) Also In "option 4. Realtime expert config" what is everyone using?

Thanks @AnotherSpin and @bobfafor replying, that would be very helpful Bob looking forward to it. Btw, Piero was able to troubleshoot the problem e.g. the original file was audiolinux_350.img not audiolinux_350.img.gz, this is because unfortunately mac had decompressed the file after downloading it. In any case, the latest versions of headless 1.5.0 and lxqt 3.6.0 are to be released today, so I might as well wait a few hrs & get those.

I tried, Piero sent me that link yesterday. But somehow I’m dragging my feet on the first step itself :(.. I’ve done it before on the early AL 220.img file successfully but being away for 8-9 months I seem to be doing something wrong... I need to get the first step right and then everything will fall into place or so I believe (fings crossed

Returning After an 8 month hiatus from everything audio, I have downloaded the latest links (headless & lxqt) from Piero but I'm struggling to copy it on the USB stick. If anyone's posted a link on how to do this (Mac specific) please point me towards it. Anyone have success copying the img with Etcher? I use a Mac book pro as a server and plan on using the Celeron NuC as headless endpoint.
