  1. I'm looking at the DAC2 D, not DAC2 L. I thought the only difference was extra analog inputs and 12V trigger on the DAC2 HGC? What is that feature for anyway? How come the Mytek doesn't have a balanced preamp? It has a single DAC feeding it's XLR +/- outputs? I'll see what I can do. Don't you lose the whole point of balanced XLR this way?
  2. How does the Mytek Stereo192-DSD-DAC compare to the Benchmark DAC2? From what I understand, the Manhattan isn't a replacement for the Stereo192-DSD-DAC since it costs $4,000. Has Mytek mentioned that they will be releasing an updated version of the Stereo192?
  3. The first two don't have XLR outputs. I'll look into the Mini-i Pro, thanks. I like the PureDAC, but it's too wide. The DAC has to fit where my DacMagic is, between the monitor stands.
  4. Hi guys, My DacMagic Plus doesn't work anymore, at least for USB. I'm going to bring it in to hopefully get it repaired under warranty. I've been wondering if you have any suggestions for a replacement? Here are the features it needs to have: - remote - async usb 2.0 24/192 or better, preferably really good/recent USB drivers - fully balanced with XLR outputs - around 24cm wide, not full rack width since it won't fit on my desk - no noise, clicks or pops The preamp part is more important than the headphone amp, but I do occasionally use headphones at home. I've never tried DSD, but I guess it would be nice to have. I don't have Firewire, but I could get it if necessary since my motherboard supports it, I just need the bracket. What are my options at this point? I would like something recent so that I don't end up buying an end-of-life model. So far I found these: Benchmark DAC2 D - $1,795 The Benchmark is the most expensive, but why? Are you just paying for the name? Mytek Stereo192-DSD-DAC - $1,595 I like the Mytek design philosophy, but I'm wary that it's been out since 2011. Oppo HA-1 - $1,199 I read that the HA-1's preamp isn't as good as its headphone amp. Anedio D2 DAC - $1,250 The Anedio doesn't seem to have amazing reviews and a lot of people seem to be trying to get rid of theirs. Audio-gd NFB-28 - $680 I read about the Audio-gd NFB-28 on head-fi and it looks like it has problems with noise and clicks. Is there anything decent in the $1,000 USD range? At the same time, I don't mind spending more if it's worth it. Any comments? Thanks!
