Thanks - there are a couple of pins for a SPDIF on the motherboard, and I have found some panels in the US for about £10 but being a luddite - I was wondering if a soundcard would provide a digital signal that had been improved upon. More stable, less jitter etc. kindergarten level of understanding
  2. I've just upgraded my PC, foolishly opted for a motherboard with no old fashioned PCI slots, so my M-Audio 24/69 card is redundant. All I'm looking for is a high quality digital feed for my Havana DAC, Coax preferable optical if needs be. USB is not a good option for this particular DAC. Given that I don't need the card to have a load of film flam, would you reccomend a cheap soundcard able to supply an adequate digital signal? I also use a NanoDigi which supplies me with a very versatile DSP so I'm not looking for any extras. Many thanks for any pointers
