I've got an Aries Mini which I use with an external DAC and a linear power supply. I think it's a great product but in terms of upgrading the G2 Aries is way too expensive (and overspeced) for me so I'm hoping that even the G1 will be a significant improvement over the Mini (with LPSU) but still have the user fit HDD and act as a server.

Jesus, Many thanks for such a quick reply, especially as it's good news! I'm not really into computers and there aren't many streamers without DACs. The SOTM SMS-100 seems to be a very cost effective solution to feeding the Hugo from a NAS. I'll let you know how I get on.

I assume the same issue will apply to the Chord Hugo if you want to use the HD usb port (obviously you can't load the Chord Windows or Apple drivers). Chord tell me there are Linux drivers but it depends on the kernel version. Has anyone successfully used an SMS100 with a Chord Hugo into its HD port?
