  1. Personally I remember a software/hardware engineer telling me 20+ years ago "computers like to be left alone" which meant every time you add something to them there is potential for it to do a wobbly which nowadays is freeze/crash etc etc. So the idea of running jriver on a NAS and getting rid of the PC is very exciting indeed (to me anyway), I can listen to my music without a pc in my room/workshop using my touch which accesses the pc in my office via my network but the OP's idea is good if it can be done.
  2. My music server runs on windows server 2012 R2 with the optimizer through a dsd DAC and I have never heard better sounds from pc audio, the software does cost £1000 though well here in the UK it does! I particularly like the no desktop, no browser, in fact no real resemblance to windows at all which I think is splendid as I am not a big windows 7/8 fan!
  3. Nothing wrong with the Duet, I have the touch currently playing 24/192 through the new iFI Micro I-DSD DAC and it sounds splendid. Is the duet capable of 24/192?
  4. I am more interested in jriver for linux personally! Though the original idea is very good indeed. My music server uses windows server 2012 R2 and jriver works well with it, the thought of getting rid of the server (pc) does excite me!
  5. Whats the situation anyway with Neil Young he keeps sending me pono updates but nothing of real interest, is the player ready yet does anyone know?
