  1. I'm on PC and tried dbpoweramp, it works... But I didn't have enough patience and decided to use other firmware/OS on my ipod (rockbox). Rockbox supports flac-playback. Thanks for the help!
  2. I want to convert my flac collection to alac since my Ipod isn't able to play flac files. The problem is that I want to convert my collection but keep the file structure. I have one folder called "Music" with multiple folders in it by genre, in that folder I have multiple folders containing folders by artist etc. Hope this is possible. Thanks in advance
  3. I just received the iDSD nano. The only big con (for me) is that I'll always have to turn the knop to turn it on. This is annoying since the device isn't ideal to mount "in-sight" with its audio out on the front into a hifi installation. When you turn on the iDSD on usb power it runs on the usb power, not the batterypower. But when you turn off your computer the iDSD will start running on the battery. iFi doesn't advice to simply disconnect the battery
  4. FIXED: Sorry that I started a topic for this and solved it so fast, BUT maybe someone 'll be able to use this information later . Still had to delete the "Resampler" (Edit->Preferences->DSP)
  5. I just received my iDSD nano and gave it a run. I run deadbeef on Linux Mint 17 and deadbeef is configured as "bit perfect" (found this on an other website, see below). The problem is that the iDSD doesn't get the audio as is, when I play 24bit/192kHz music, it says it's playing 44kHz/48kHz music. I don't know where to look in my system to find the problem, can someone help me on this? Regards Flaudo
  6. I'm thinking of buying the nano iDSD (got some advice in an other thread). I was just wondering about the whole USB power/battery thing. On some places I read that the iDSD is powered via the battery and the USB is only to charge the battery. Somewhere else I read: "By switching on the DAC before connecting a USB cable, the Nano iDSD will run on battery power, but by plugging in the USB cable first and then powering up the DAC, the Nano iDSD will run on USB power." Can someone confirm this? (Yep I searched this thread but couldn't find an answer )
  7. Based on the "Specification", or do you have real-life experience with this DAC?
  8. iFi micro iDSD is way to expensive, it sells for €500 here in europe. The nano on the otherhand really fits my budget and has some interesting features (don't like the form factor but OK). Kind of hard to choose when new into the "hifi world", a demo (on my installation) would be nice, but there are no iFi dealers in my area.
  9. I'm want to buy a DAC on a budget, I've already done some research but I didn't make my mind yet. I'm currently thinking about buying the DacMagic 100 or the Musical Fidelity V90. The V90 supports asynchronous data stream up to 24bit/96kHz (via USB) and the Dacmagic up to 192kHz. But I can't make my decision just based on the numbers, for a mather of fact 90% of my music is below 96kHz. I know this is not the most important factor, nor can the quality of a DAC be described in the specifications they give. That's why I want some advice from you guys. Thanks in advance

    Linux SACDiso

Thanks for the answers. It seems like there isn't a good way to play the SACD iso yet. I'll convert them to flac in windows first, so I can play them in my preferred player (deadbeef).

    Linux SACDiso

Hello everyone, I'm new here, I use linux on all my computers and now decided to use a HP mini with a Cambridge Dacmagic 100 to play music with through my hifi-installation. Still need to buy the DAC, but I'm already setting up my laptop. It runs Linux Mint 17, and I'm using Deadbeef as player (configured for bit perfect audio). But I was still wondering, is there a way to play SACD iso files like you can with foobar2000 under windows? I've heard it works under Linux using wine, but I try to avoid working with wine... I've already done some research but didn't find a solution yet Regards!
