  1. OK, so I have listened to the HD Tracks 24 bit version and there is hardly any difference when comparing to the CD. There is a song where there are some bells softly ringing at the beginning - there is a little more depth there.
  2. I bought the OPPO BDP-105D because it can play (natively) almost every audio format that you can throw at it. It also has what is arguably the best DA converter in the business. All of my content is on a portable HDD which is connected to the Oppo via USB - the sound quality is spectacular!! The remote control app on the iPAD accesses the music library on the HDD. I know this site is all about using computer software players so I am probably not going to persuade anyone to ditch their computers but, for me, the KISS principal always works best. What is your main reason for using JRiver 19 ? Is it the sound manipulation features like upmixing, downmixing, speaker control etc ??
  3. The CD version of this sounds amazing when played on what is arguably the best DA converter in the business (Oppo BDP-105D) - am going to try the HD Tracks version to see how much better it sounds. BTW - I love this album - very understated with some of the best melodies they have ever composed. Waveform analysis and all that techie stuff rarely reflects the talent (or lack thereof) of the people who record and engineer the final product. It's all about "musicality" and the perceptions of the individual listener.
