  1. This very musical sounding DAC is three years old and for sale. This is a R2R ladder DAC and one of Lukasz Fikus' best creations. The DAC comes in standard configuration with USB input (amanero), SPDIF coaxial and BNC and AES/EBU. No optical input. The output is unbalanced only. The dac is based in The Netherlands but shipping within Europe shouldn't be a problem. The Dac comes with two spare sets of 4P1L tubes. For reviews look at https://6moons.com/audioreviews2/lampizator2/1.html New price including the two spare tube sets was 4100 euro. Now for sale for 2900 euro's. Look for pictures at https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1488624673 BTW: Lampizator has a very nice secondhand service which could be interesting for you. Look at their website under 'Second hand service' or download the pdf at https://d178dfe1-6094-4971-8b61-f66722d80d57.filesusr.com/ugd/c6db56_0357384107514bff90c8726753ee2c94.pdf.
  2. Thanks from me too. Updating to menu 208 solved my instability with orange and green profile.
  3. Seems that when your name has an alliteration in it you have big chance to become a great bass player 😀 Pino Paladino, Brian Bromberg, Jimmy Johnson, Marcus Miller, Steve Swallow, Michael Manring, Hugh Hopper, Rufus Reid.
  4. Great... headless 2.0 is all ready running and playing. I start with the 'green' profile and that sounds good to me... Thanks Piero. Great work
  5. Thanks to all of you for the valuable info from this forum. That makes an obligation to write a little post about my test audiolinux/euphony. I am a long time user of Audiolinux in conjunction with Roon server and off and on (mostly on) HQplayer embedded. I have a homebuild server with an i7, 8gb, asus mobo and a samsung SSD, powered with a HDPlex lineair psu. The server streams from NAS (synology) or Qobuz hi res to a Microrendu. The uRendu is hooked up to a Lampizator Atlantic which has the Amanero board. From there it goes to a Tentlab volume control, a Belles 350A poweramp to Totem Forests. I just wanted to try Euphony after all I read from here, however I am very satisfied about Audiolinux. So I am very curious. Euphony is on a Sandisk USB stick and Audiolinux goes from the SSD. I tried Euphony in above setup with the combinations Roon and Roon with HQplayer. In the config with the uRendu I couldn't make Stylus working, despite of the very nice and quick response of the Euphony heldesk. I be honest with you: I couldn't hear much of a difference in this setup, maybe due to the microrendu as endpoint (Roon endpoint as well as NAA). Because I was eager to listen to Stylus, I hooked the server directly into the Lampizator leaving uRendu out of the equasion. Wow... what a difference. Much more in your face, much more bass. Also the combination Roon/Hqpd gave me the same impression. Well we all know that when something sounds differently it is not necessairily better... After a while I got a little annoyance about the amount of bass. Maybe this is due to my room, but it was really tiring to listen to. I am not a boomy bass guy. I love well balanced bass and this was too much. So I gave up with Euphony for now. I have lots of trial days left and I will try later and see if my findings are repeatable. BTW: I tried also playing into RAM. I never liked this option in AL, no difference in Euphony. Hard, harsh and do I sometimes hear distortion in fortissimo string passages? BTW2: how is it actually possible that Euphony gives so much low energy, also in a comparible setup with Roon/ hqpd, where the only relevant difference is the OS, both basically Archlinux. Mmm.. .what did they do? Going back to AL this whole endeavour gave me another insight: The server directly into the DAC, without the uRendu is actually a nice sound! So for now I put my money on the new version of Audiolinux and maybe I buy a nice ifi iUSB to get something more out of my server. Thanks Euphony for the trial and the more than perfect helpdesk. But to be honest, Piero's help and advice is also first class.
  6. Dear Piero, Is version 2.0 a complete fresh install, or could my machine be updated from within my existing audiolinux installation? My computer has a second partition which contains my Roon database. Would that by swiped when I install version 2 ? thanks Johan
  7. Thanks elan, I disabled and removed ramroot before I started updating. Now I logged in as root and the menu is still showing 118. I did another menu update, but it keeps telling me that I am up to date. Reboot still shows 119. So no luck.... for now
  8. Hi Piero, from the update menu I updated the audiolinux menu, the kernel and all other packages. Updating the audiolinux menu says I am allready up to date. After reboot the menu still shows version 118... Anything wrong?
  9. Did I miss RT 5.x? I thought RT-BFQ 4.19.x is the latest version of 12/04/2019 .The one without NUMA. Did I miss a kernel or is this RT5 a special version?
  10. Maybe someting more modern? Métaboles by Henri Dutilleux, a french composer is the nicest piece on this album. It is all about colour in his music. However it isn't 'tonal' music it is very nice to listen to. For me this is the best recording of the piece, The Seatlle Symphony under Ludovic Morlot. I give the Qobuz link for it https://open.qobuz.com/album/0855404005072
  11. Thank for your confirmation Miska. But with the second half of the sentence you make me uncertain. Do you mean that the settings under SDM settings only apply when you convert PCM to DSD and not, when you disable 'Direct SDM', for DSD sources? Or do you mean that the specific XTR filter only applies for PCM sources?
  12. I have my first experience with ramroot. I must say it sounds great. I only run HQPe on this machine, so my 8Gb is enough to do it. In testing today with different kind of music I came across with this very nice and new playlist in Qobuz. A bit off-topic maybe, but give it a try to test your equipment to this. Le Notre Dame, Paris https://open.qobuz.com/playlist/2228952?j=115902&sfmc_sub=11649435&l=29_HTML&u=4772286&mid=7290575&jb=4 This it is a very honourable salut to the great Organ and acoustics of the Paris Notre Dame. The organ gives you depth, incredible low and high frequencies. The mids are oh so smooth and sweet. And you get the acoustics of the Notre Dame for free... I can recommend nr. 1 (for your low end}, nr 5 (just because it is pure beauty), nr. 16 (wonder if your ears can handle this one) and 36 (we all know those first bars, but the last chord is the most emotional with the dying reverb of a space that doesnt exist anymore) Turn up your volume as much you can handle and just enjoy this piece of art on your AL gear....
