  1. I repeated the measurements but the problem persists.
  2. Hi Mark Of course, that is sensible advice - I thought I was already careful the first time but I will try to be precise. In an other post where the problem was discussed, it was suggested to use the „sofa“ setting rather than the „chair“ despite actually listening in a chair. Thanks, Bruno
  3. Thank you very much for your replies. I will see whether taking another series of measurements might take care of the problem. I have found posts were the center stage moved to the left as well. Maybe this is not really a bug, but more like a sensitivity of the IRC/Dirac algorithm? My room is asymmetric, that could contribute. I hope you can resolve that issue with the IRC licensing, Mark.
  4. But there is another issue still: After going through the measuring procedure with Dirac and the UMIK microphone, voices no longer locate to the center but shift to the right. Has anybody experienced that as well?
  5. Hi, whenever I adjust the volume in Amarra (latest version) on the Mac (OS 10.12.6, Mac mini), the volume momentarily jumps to MAX, before settling to the new adjusted level. Is this a known issue? Any known remedy? Thank you and best wishes. Ok, it is gone. Reset DAC connection in settings seem to have helped.
  6. Right, I will go the extra mile for the magical Amarra 4 sound. Using Chord's Hugo (soon Hugo2) dac, I have no need for upsampling or dithered volume control features. However, I absolutely need the implementation of Dirac's correction software, so the focus on Amarra Luxe suits my preferences. Amarra 4 runs much more stable on my Mac compared to version 3, especially with huge 192/24 files.
  7. Good strategy and I agree with your view that Amarra is an "idiot savant":-)
  8. Now I am confused. I have a Mac and Amarra 4 runs ok without Parallels or other Windows-emulating software?
  9. Well, on: Amarra Support I found some advice. Apparently, there is helper software to check the metadata, and edit it if necessary. Apparently, it cannot be done within Amarra4.
  10. The sound of Amarra4 is great, and it runs smoother compared to Amarra3, especially with high rez files. One album imported as unknown artist and unknwon title, although in iTunes the information was present. Now, I wonder, is there a way to edit the files and change names manually? Thanks you for your sensible advice.
  11. Black Cat Silverstar. Really nice cable, and at reasonable price. Compares well to Entreq Discover USB cable, which is also a fine cable. 6moons audio reviews: Black Cat Cable Silverstar USB
  12. Hi Amarra sQ features the same EQ, but with a graphical interface showing the effects on the frequency curve. This is helpful, as all the effects of all manipulations are shown. The adjustments can then be copied to the EQ of Amarra Symphony. I hope they will transfer the same functionality to the EQ of Amarra.
  13. Dear all, I have been a long term Amarra user. Recently, I have been modifying my loudspeakers by swapping the tweeter. The new tweeter (a Mundorf AMT) is now too loud. I will eventually reduce the level with an adjusted L-pad. However, I wonder whether I could use Amarra'sEQ in the meantime. I would like to reduce output from 2.8K to 20kHz by about 3 dB. What function of the EQ would you use? I thought about Low Pass. Does that make sense? However, I am bit confused about the parameters that can be changed (they are nowhere explained). Freq is clear. But then there is Stop, which allows values from -108 to -12, what does it change? Finally, there is O. I guess this means order? 1st order 6dB, 2nd order 12dB, etc?. I would appreciate any sensible advice or pointers to good manuals that cover the topic. Cheers, Bruno
