  1. i sent my codex to amirm and had measurements taken. they were objectively not ideal. i don’t blame amirm that they came out poor. since manufacturers will not submit measurements, why would you you blame and vilify the messenger? if the manufacturer submitted measures and so did asr and they were contradictory i could see grounds for some discussion but if only one party is willing to put their neck out why would they ever be the party at fault? “killing the messenger” has never seemed to be on the right side of history if the message is sound. i swapped the codex for the d1 due to the subjective accounts but would like some objective measures to add data to this journey. are we so insecure as to not want some data?
  2. Agreed. I have a D1 and have thought about sending it to Audio Science Review for testing but if Lumin has some specifications and charts of measures i would like to seem as well.
  3. I have been waiting for this new preamp to emerge for a while. i have the current model with some mods... want to try the new one and see if its worth the cost.
  4. Looking for some advice on which Lumin is right for my system. T2 (new or used) or a used A1? I have currently a ipad playing into an Ayre Codex or Khadas tone board (qobuz, tidal, roon). The khadas has amazing chips (ess 9038Q2M) and measures amazing but does not sound very relaxing and real yet (not broken in). Fatigue sets in quickly. the Ayre measures horrible but i can listen all day, though knowing i am missing some detail and realism. I have a turntable system as well which sounds great - vpi prime, jc3 jr, various cartridges. i want the most balanced real sounds possible but also that I can listen to all night and get lost in the music. The A1 has many fans. the T2 is being touted as better and also relaxed and realistic. is it the best of both or fatiguing ESS all over again? can't listen to both i don't think... w4s pre > decware mystery > vivid 1.5 > gik acoustics
  5. :-( i just got mine delivered last month... darn.
  6. To be clear on the DSD dac. We must feed a DSD signal, so using ROON i would have roon upsample the signal to DSD as I do today. Any other inputs using PCM would fail to connect? correct?
  7. I don't find the EQ to be sonically invisible. I hear very obvious distortion and static sounds with vocals and other instruments. i was only trying to pull down a bass node in my room but i heard obvious distortion across the frequency bands beyond the 42hz range I was affecting. I turned EQ off.
  8. Please send a detailed review when they have broken in and you feel you have them optimized in your room. cheers
  9. pretty. what does that represent and what does it show? thanks for the education
  10. What would it take to support playback using Audirvana from inside Roon. is this a feature Audirvana could support in the future or is the issue Roon itself? Is this on the roadmap?
  11. How are you using Qobuz in the USA? I have tried a few methods and it blocks me.
  12. Sorry to be a dullard here. can someone point me to the detailed instructions for getting tidal / audirvana+ working on a mac?
  13. Agreed, can you give us the details of the measurements you utilized? height, width, depth, etc.
  14. I believe that most of the people posting might have that opinion, but your click path references are the silent majority who don't really believe it and will probably buy your product... I've read many threads of the same idea but kept silent and it always helped establish my opinion in the opposite direction.
  15. I called Tom and he is a go. so now people can also hear one in room 1408 starting saturday morning. cheers!
