  1. Yes. I took the Majik DS to a friends place. It didnt work. I guess the problem is it lost its configuration during the update. Before that everything was ok. So I doubt it is a hardware problem. I think there should be a way to reset the Majik from zero. Justa as when one formats a computer or a cell phone. Then I should be able to try the update again.
  2. I have already contacted both of them. It was more or less the same costs and procedure offered. Both were very kind and very professional. A more precise description of the problem here in a previous email to Linn: "the blue dot keeps blinking and the fallback button doesnt change anything. And all of these after a long weekend at home annoyed by the situation. Apparently the Linn DS after some update decided not to talk to my network. Should I try something else?" Answer from Linn (my edition): "Pressing the fallback button whilst the blue do is flashing will not do anything. The Majik DS needs to be on the network, which it doesn’t appear to be able to do as the blue dot keeps flashing. This might represent an issue with the network connection, physically on your Majik DS.... From your description, it sounds as though there is an issue with the Ethernet connector of the Majik DS although I cannot confirm this. We would require your Majik DS to be returned via your nearest authorised Linn retailer for our engineers to repair it." Again, Id appreciate some help coming from you guys. Regards Raul
  3. Hi everyone and thanks for ur comments. Please don't take me wrong Linn is a great company with a great service just as their dealer in NY. They charge something like 250 USD for diagnostic and shipping arrangements, administration fee , plus shipping to and from Scotland, plus service fee in Scotland, plus spare parts if necessary. Hence the 400 bucks or more mentioned in my previous post. It is an estimated amount given to me by the Linn dealer. I have nothing against Linn nor Linn dealer who was very kind, I just find it is not worthy due to alternative DAC soulutions I could find today for a fraction of the money invested in the repair. So if you understand something about DACs and streaming and you can reset my Majik DS so that I can try the update again, I d be thankfuly happy. Yes it was after a firmware update when it just died.   4. Yes I have. my Majik DS is five years old. It is a wonderful device with amazing sound. The problem is I cannot start it since the last update. Not even pushing the reset button behind. I think it is a software problem but being out of warranty it is very expensive send it to Linn service for a diagnostic (400 USD). There are plenty of options today that would cost less than that.
  5. Hi dear friends. I have a non-working Linn Majik DS which doesn´t play/stream music since the last software update. Maybe I am doing something wrong, or I just couldn´t update it the right way. I´d appreciate whether somebody close to NY 11420 could try to start/fix the Majik DS. YES I already tried the Linn service but they would charge me 400 bucks or more just to tell me what is wrong. For that price I d prefer to buy a new Schiit or something. I am not joking, could you just pick up the Majik DS and try to figure out what is wrong? I am asking for a free- FAVOR, not a technical service. Hope you can help me. Raúl
