I see exactly the same (mis)behaviour as the OP. Occasionally, the issues go away for a day or so and then return. I use the app with a non-Lumin setup (Linn streamer and a Raspberrry Pi running Moode). Disabling iCloud and Siri support hasn't helped. I don't think it's a installation issue on my iPad because I've experienced the same issues with my iPhone when I tested the app there. It is a bit strange what's going wrong, because I suppose there's lot of happy Lumin App users out there who never see crashes.

I've bought a license and like it -- It may not have as many knobs to turn as other products but this makes it easier to use for non-specialists. I had to manually set zero positions and did at first not zoom in to do it precisely. This led to lengthy filter computations and a sub-optimal result. Having fixed that, the wizard-based approach of the GUI is snappy and easy to use. I'm doing filters for a setup with floor-standers in a relatively small (18 m2) room.

ConvoFS - room correction in the file system
michaelg replied to michaelg's topic in Immersive Audio
It certainly should, yes. Remember to install / start the Perl and Container station packages in advance. The initial install can take 10-15 minutes, as the installer builds a miniature Linux system inside a container. ConvoFS works good in combination with the Minim UPNP server, which I believe the sMS should able to access. In case of problems, do contact me, either here / PM / the ConvoFS.net contact address. -
ConvoFS - room correction in the file system
michaelg replied to michaelg's topic in Immersive Audio
Hi, ConvoFS is indeed supported on QNAP. You should check that the software package Perl is installed - it's the language that the startup-scripts are written it. ConvoFS itself run inside a container. Beware that the ConvoFS initial install will take up to about 15+ minutes -- it builds a small linux subsystem Docker image. Also, always use AppCenter if stopping/starting ConvoFS. Most of the ConvoFS users known to me are located in Germany, using Synology NAS + MinimServer + ConvoFS w/Acourate filters a and use Linn streamers. - Michael -
HOLO Audio Spring DAC - R2R DSD512
michaelg replied to bibo01's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
I'm trying to upgrade the USB firmware on my Spring 2 DAC from version 3008 to version 3012.Each time I try, I get a message that the Dfu program could not find any firmware files. Looking into 'holousbaudioDfu.xml', I see that this upgrade path is not described which most likely explains the issue. I could easily fix this, but I don't want to brick my precious DAC. So: what is the proper procedure to upgrade the USB firmware from version 3008? -
New Aqua Formula DAC (Multibit R2R)
michaelg replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
My ears have two analogue filters that can fully do the left-over job. Currently handling - to my full satisfaction - the output of my Metrum NOS DAC. My brain is built for listening to music and was not shipped with an included Audio Precision instrument. This seems to be the two archetypes of audiophiles which will probably never fully understand each other. -
Testing with my Mini - things work just fine. I'm pondering that AURALiC - given enough time - has a quite good track record of actually implementing the ideas/features they come up with -- up/resampling, Roon, memory playback etc. They haven't delivered room correction yet but I won't be surprised if it arrives some day.

Auralic Aries Mini
michaelg replied to davide256's topic in Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming
Case (stuttering with DSD 128/256 playback from the Mini) closed. I contacted Auralic support. They were not able to reproduce the problems. But they asked if I had disabled DoP in the Mini settings. For some reason, I had actually done this -- DoP or not should IMHO not matter when using the internal DAC. But when I re-enabled DoP, the problems vanished. I can now stream DSD256 tracks NAS->LightningServer on Femto Aries->Mini->RCA outputs without any stuttering (cabled gigabit network). -

I'm using an ASUS RT-N66U router with gigabit ethernet and 5Ghz 801n wireless. I've replaced the USB stick with a WesternDigital external drive. Using the Synology/Linux 'smbclient' tool, I've been able to copy a DSF file with 21 megabytes/second USBdisk->Mini->Router->Synology which should be more than enough for any DSD rate - DSD128 should be about 1.5 mbytes/sec. So there does not seem to be any bottleneck in the network / disk setup and it proves that the cabled network is at gigabit rate from the mini through the router to the NAS. I've emailed AURALiC, they may be able to pull some debug info from the Mini. -

That is also what I thought, I spent much of this morning switching from wireless to wired gigabit network and back. But the problem - even the timing of the stuttering - is the same when I put a DSD file on USB stick into the Mini and index it (thus having a library of only one track). Could of course be the USB stick that cannot read fast enough so next step will be taking a Western Digital USB disk and repeating the test.
