on this subject of HiDef audio... I am struggling to see how there's any point in releasing 96 or 192 or anything above 44.1khz to be honest.. If humans can't hear it.. and you'll struggle to find a speaker or headphones that can reproduce it (can anything?)..
So whilst I'm not denying that there's extra information there - you can see it in the frequency spectrums and so on - does that info actually get used when reproducing sound within audible and physically reproducible frequency ranges?
I suspect that these new masters would sound just as much "betterer" than the old CDs if you got the hi-def flac and made a 320mp3 out of it..
Or am I missing something here?
