  1. Appreciate your ongoing ability to allow usage of MC within the AO environment. Cheers, VP
  2. Phil, Congrats on the v2 release. I am just in the process of ensuring my HTPC will work with JRMC on Windows 2012 R2 in stock mode before committing to a purchase of AO. Will be working on it this coming weekend and then I should be ready to roll. You and I have exchanged a few emails in the past few months and I am the guy that will need audio AND video (HDMI) to be 100% working before I can move to AO. I noticed there almost no mention of JRMC within the revised v2 AO manual - is that "by design"? VP
  3. Awesome. I will be purchasing later today and will fire up an email for the beta version of AO 2.00 Cheers! VP
  4. Thanks Phil. I am about to make the move to Server 2012R2 for my HTPC and would like to know when AO 2.00 will be available. I may as well go with the latest and greatest here. Appreciate any updates you can share. Cheers! VP
  5. I reached out to the OP in the other forum and he had this to say about what AO does during install (1.4): "AO wants to look for the default installation location of JRiver "C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 20\" when setup in Core mode and JRiver as the default shell. Practically we use our audio PC like a digital music player, Server 2012 autologs on and start JRiver immediately. But it looks for MC20, of course I tried to rename the path and the .exe file name, but it didn't work this way." Can anyone confirm that AO (v1.4) is actually suggesting/forcing/offering a default folder path of: "C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 20" Or does it offer the default install path of whatever version of MC that is installed? VP
  6. Whew - that's what I figured. The poster in that J.River thread must not understand his layout... Thanks! VP
  7. Was just reading some threads over at the J.River forums - and saw this tidbit of info: "I found that Audiophile Optimizer 1.4 (the latest version of this software) on Windows Server 2012 only works with JRiver MC 20." If one has long since binned MC v20, is on v21 and about to move to v22 in the coming months - is an AO purchase a mistake? I would have thought this addon would keep pace with MC versions? Appreciate any info. Cheers! VP
  8. Sounds excellent to me. I came here originally seeking to gather "intel" from anyone who had Win2012 R2/AO/J.River working at their place with their "stuff". I did not come here expecting to be placed in the middle of a scrap. The bottom line is that no asked for "support" or whether it this works or not. That is for me - and only me - to find out. If I were on an auto forum - would the CEO of Chevy thread crap me and wave a finger saying it's "not a good idea" for me to install a hemi in my 59 Belair? This whole thing is quite ridiculous now - and judging by the post that just came in (while I was typing) - seems JRiver won't stay on the sidelines anyway... Sigh. VP
  9. +1. Exactly what I have been trying to communicate here. VP
  10. Then "they" should not be concerned about this thread or any of it's content. That whole post wreaks of "big daddy" waving a finger at a child or creating some illusion that suggests that anyone reading this post will yank out a copy of Win2012 Server and start installing J.River on it. I probably should have just kept my mouth shut and worked on this privately. Will know better for next time. VP
  11. Well - I never asked for any support and do not want any quite frankly. What I do here is my own business. If I burn it down - so be it. I have to wonder if JRiver decided to come down on Chris (site founder) for using his J.River license + AO + Windows 2012 Server as outlined here: Computer Audiophile - Audiophile Optimizer Raises The Bar VP
  12. If others are reading this thread and suddenly get "worried" about what might happen - it is up to them to reach out to you. I am not one of those people. VP
  13. Well - I did specific that Windows is a requirement as J.River Media Center is the "player". And yes we have a NAS already - but that is Windows 2012 Server. But our media does not come from the NAS. Really just looking for suggestion on what folks are thinking fo LAN cards when building a Windows based HTPC or music server. VP
