  1. I have to say thanks to Damien, for his effort in making some pretty good music software. But as time is passing I was getting more and more problems with my family who are also music lovers and had difficulties in handling his software by remote on the Mac. I could distract them for a long time with the promise that Damien is buzzy with designing a real remote, but there comes a point when it can no longer be. Therefore I must now move to another system, a real music server system who will be especially user-friendly for the whole family. Probably I choose Linn. Damien, thanks again for your efforts and good luck with your project in future.
  2. Happy New Year to all fans Audirvana ! On the beautiful moments that are going to come in 2015
  3. Sometimes I have it to, but very occasionally. My guess its not A+ its the music file. On the other hand 2.0.5 is running stable here, no problems so far.
  4. Just to give a positive signal... Updated to 2.0.3, before upgrading to Yosemite this morning. All my music and playlist in visible in A+....3 and plays fine after both upgrades on my dedicated for music Mac mini. I like the visual appearance of Yosemite, it integrates good with the minimalistic design of A+2. Now the remote, go go Damien!
  5. Maybe something wrong in disc performance, did you try 'disk utility' and then 'verify disk permissions' from the applications > utilities folder? If there is something wrong check next 'disc repair permissions'. It could be of some help, its something I regularly do when I encounter problems.
  6. Scanning is notable fast here in opening A+ in a matter of seconds. Only when I added a new album before opening A+, the blue bar keeps full blue for minutes.

    Audirvana+ 2.02

Just tried... The Audirvana website does not give me any problems in loading, I pushed the buy button and it brings me correctly to the secure.avangate.com site to fill in my details in case I will buy. Welcome to the forum. EDIT: Maybe your MB Pro has problems with trusting the Digital Certificate from Verisign.

    Audirvana+ 2.02

Can't find where to fill in the field 'Recording Location'. Any idea's?
  9. After this second scan it showed up, but without metadata. Removed them again out of the directory and run the files through Picard, next added them again. Now it was showing correctly and immediate in the album window. I guess the mentioned problems I had, where my fault in ripping. I have to made more attention to the metadata before adding any files into A+. Problem solved I was to quick in my decision something was wrong in adding music with sub-directories, but I still wonder why A+ was nog adding immediately the files at first, the files where added after I closed the program for about 15 minutes and then made a fresh start. Still a happy user of A+.
  10. After I added the new music it just would made a auto-scan or manual. So I Quit the program for today. In reading your comment I started again A+ and now its scanning all directory's. I let you now how it ends (if the mentioned directories are added, could take some time...
  11. Just tried to add a ripped album in one of the scanned directories, as a directory with sub-directories as you can see it in the picture beneath. A+ did a auto-sync but afterwards I could not find the album. So did a manual sync of the directory... Nothing! A+ is NOT scanning the sub directories. Anyone else find this out?
  12. My two cents, and I keep being buzzy talking off-topic. There is a certain degree of tolerance for me at least to bugs in any program. This tolerance extends to me very far with A +, only because the development is done by one person, additionally not professional but in his spare time (I read somewhere that Damien still has a daytime job). And as my son is a programmer at Volvogroup I perfectly now how much effort this business takes, its constantly falling and getting up. Amarra, I have a very low tolerance degree for this program, its a program developed by a professional team, and Sonic Studio is asking a hefty sum to get laid on the table by buyers. Programs like Amarra must be good by release, and if there is a bug to be discovered when using it, they must interact fast without asking to pay again. Do you now how much it cost to make a long phone-call to the US for people abroad, or let the Sonic Studio techies enters your Mac. But I like Amarra especially for its analog sound and I will keep listening to it. I really like both players and find them the best two in my opinion. Thankfully we have this forum and its wonderful members to get help if something is not really working well! By the way, since update 2.02 Audirvana is working flawless at least for me. So now I'm waiting anxiously for the remote!
  13. Sorry to go off-topic. Were not we all hungry for this update? So Damien brought it to us, and ok maybe its still feels like beta software. Despite my earlier comments I made about the price of this upgrade, I find it now very valuable and have the price paid with a smile. What software writer is so close to its customers, trying to interact with problems as fast as possible and actually involves us in the development of a program. In contrast, it was a small fee compared to the other program, which for many at least, and I count myself also to this group, was a very expensive purchase. Does this program get past its beta store application? NO. And besides, there is little or no interaction undertaken to its problems, you must be satisfied with the service ticket which they created for you, and that's it. As A+2 is developing now I see it more as a child slowly growing up, and I have a fine feeling to be part of it. The price I have to pay Damien is a small effort to get him the necessary money for the hardware and development tools. Let's all wait and see, my guess is, it will be the best money I ever spend on music software.
  14. Auto sync was a mayor bug for me in adding some new music, thanks Damien for such a fast interaction to all or mentioned problems. Release 2.0.2 Add artist as albums search criteria for search filed in albums view Add year as albums sort criteria in Albums View Add audio file location column in tracks list view Optimize playback start time for large libraries Bug fixes: Fix for auto sync not working for file changes done when Audirvana Plus is not running Fix wrong playing track duration displayed when sample rate converter is in action Workaround to read AIFF metadata created with iTunes that are not fully compliant with AIFF standard (second fix)
  15. Found this morning another 'slow synchronization' in standalone mode. - Added a new directory to sync in A+2. Placed an flac album inside of it and did a manual sync of that directory. All very well, it scanned and the album shows in the window almost immediate. - Closed the program and removed the album from that directory in finder. Next I converted the album into aiff files, opened iTunes and added the album in the iTunes window (so it copies automatically the music in the music directory). - Closed iTunes and opened A+2 in standalone mode, no immediate auto scan started and the flac album was still showing in the window although it was removed from its directory. That's normal because the program was not immediate scanning. Waited for around 10 minutes, nothing happened so then I did a manual scan (because still no automatic scan happens) from that directory and boom, the album was gone. - Still no automatic scan was happening from the directory where iTunes places the converted album... So I started also a manual scan. Its has been buzzy scanning that directory for around 30 minutes before the album shows up. I understand that if you made an manual scan it takes some time, probably it then makes a 'deep' scan. Why was the automatic scanning feature not starting itself after a fresh start of A+2 or some changing in directory's? Sometimes it does, but today its not going very well. Strange behaviour!
