  1. Why would anyone be willing to pay £1,590 for an audio cable?
  2. I seem to recall reading about teething problems when converting DSD. Not sure if they've been addressed...
  3. Thanks, I am using DSD256 into a RME ADI2 DAC with the analogue DSD filter set to 50Hz
  4. @Miska how does the out-of-band noise shape differ between regular ASDM7 and 512+fs? Which one would be best for a wide bandwidth transistor amplifier?
  5. I have tried ReplayGain tagging a couple of AIFF files with Yate and it still doesn't work...
  6. Thanks. I don't know what's wrong with the ReplayGain flag in AIFF files then, could be a problem with beaTunes... Adpative gain works perfectly with FLAC files.
  7. A quick update. I won't be pursuing this for 2 reasons: • rsgain requires that one install xcode (which I did do) and Homebrew (which I didn't bother to) • ReplayGain doesn't work with AIFF files - I installed a demo version of beaTune to test Maybe @Miska can confirm; when using HQPlayer ReplayGain worked with FLAC files but not AIFF files
  8. Has anyone used this ReplayGain tagging utility called rsgain? It looks pretty straightforward and I am thinking of tagging files in my rock library and then activate 'Active gain' in HQPlayer. https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Rsgain
  9. Not fan of her music but she was impressive in WKW's "Chungking Express":

    HQ Player

I use Screen Sharing to control HQPlayer Desktop installed in an M1 mini. I need it to browse iTunes/Music and drag-drop into HQPlayer. The Activity Monitor indicates that Screen Sharing is only using 0.2% of the CPU.
  11. That makes sense. I will give Binaural+ a try, hopefuly I'll find something worth listening? (easier said than done with audiophile labels/editions) I tried acoustic XTC many many years ago, when still in secondary school and purely by chance/intuition as I had no idea what it was at the time.
  12. You could look up the meaning of 'self-explanatory'. And then try to answer my question.
  13. I thought that my question was clear but maybe it isn't. If XTC sounds different, how likely is it that a song would be mixed differently with XTC vs 'normal' stereo? No need to answer if you think that my question is 'self-explanatory', whatever that means...
