  1. Having read this post I may add my two cents in. I have the following setup: Marantz SA 7003 SACD Player / Marantz UD 7007 Blu Ray Player / Corda Classic Headphone Amp / Sennheiser HD800. When two identical SACDs are played snychronously in each device there is obviously no difference in sound quality when switching between both sources. Instead when the UD 7007 plays an DVD-R with the corresponding ISO the SACD seems to sound a little bit more transparent or broader. As the data itself should still be the same (right ?) I've so far been considering that the DVD-R might get sampled in a different manner during playback. But maybe it is related to sandyk's comment. Has anyone else had the same experience with deviation in sound quality? Cheers, Claudius
  2. Good evening, given a Marantz SA 7003 and a Marantz UD 7007 together with a headphone/-amp there is no difference in listening to the stereo layer switching between both sources as input channel each having the same SACD inside. So far so good. Whereas when the UD 7007 plays a corresponding DVD-R (recognized as SACD) the Marantz SA 7003 still playing the SACD seems to sound a little bit broader or more expanded. Questions: Does the data itself remain exactly the same? Might the DVD-R be sampled differently during playback compared to the SACD and therefore sound slightly different? What is the recommended setup - Bluray Player vs. DAC? Any help appreciated. Cheers, Claudius
