  1. What sub are you guys using successfully with the KEF LS50Ws? I want to integrate a sub to free the KEFs from having to play the very low bass frequencies but my previous attempts using an Adam Audio 8 sub have been unsuccessful ....it is a cheaper sub and just simply sounds boomy unless I turn it way down almost to the point of not being there at all. I do not want to spend a fortune on a sub, perhaps something second hand might do....any suggestions? Also what settings do you guys use on your sub integrations?
  2. here in Italy the Qobuz server is having serious issues...all users have lost the option to play "my favoutites" content, it comes up empty....has happened now twice this week and is till not working for anyone...
  3. Can anyone get the new Kef Control app to work on IOS? Mne stops working after the first attempt and I have to reinstall it every time...
  4. I would like to know if there is any reason to upsample the Qobuz 16/44k resolution files to 384kin the Aties Femto to be input into my DSD DAC, .... could I expect the sound quality to improve?
  5. I tested the analog RCA inputs vs the PC inputs again. The analog RCA inputs fed by my Aries Femto streamer > Yulong D8 [highly modified] DAC sound way better than the Aries straight into the PC [USB] inputs or using the KEF app as a streamer. It is not even close....there is so much more warmth, realism ...everything improves through the analog inputs even though I know the analog signal is resampled by the KEFs DAC . Obviously this analog signal I am sending the KEFs is of a much higher quality then the one decoded by only the KEFs DAC..... Just sharing my experience....
  6. possibly doing the streaming and conversion outside the KEFs using some really good equipment will sound better than doing this internally in the KEFs....even though this analog signal is then reprocessed by the DAC inside the KEFs it is an excellent analog signal and only processed by the KEFs to send to its internal amps
  7. I have been experimenting using the KEFs as a Roon endpoint . I have concluded that they sound considerably better using an Aries as a transport into my highly modified Yulong DA8 DAC and into the RCA analog inputs of the KEFs....
  8. Has anyone tried an SBooster BOTW 15-16V LPS with an Aries Femto and compared it to the supplied Aries LPS?
  9. After having read the reports about sound quality using the RCA inputs and an external DAC on these speakers I tried it myself and am pleasantly surprised by the results. I am using a heavily modified Yulong DA8 DAC and definitely feel there is an improvement in detail retrieval and overall sound quality compared to using the USB input on these speakers.I have no idea why this is the case, especially bearing in mind that the RCA analog inputs are resampled by the internal DAC of the speakers...
  10. The onboard DAC of the Aries Mini also does not cease to surprise when the Aries is powered with an SBooster LPS.. The Mojo is about on par with the onboard Aries Mini DAC...very different sound though so a bit difficult to quantize... I also have a Yulong DA8 which has been extensively modified and upgraded by HoerWege in Germany...it blew my BMC Puredac away quite easily...and that is quite a feat
