  1. Hello Rod Happy that you enjoy also this small converter. I'm also fascinate by this equipment, the sound is really incredible for the price. My first experience with the Computer audio was not satisfactory because i was using the BEHRINGER fCA202 (Firewire). When i have read the comment from JOEL in this FORUM, i have tryed the experience again with this USB device. Since the very first note of the music, i was very impress by the sound quality. Everything become more clear, look like this equipment has been designed just for me !!!!!!!!!! I have ripped all my CD's in WAV format. Thanks to everyone for helping us discovering this excellent product. This FORUM is simply like this product, FANTASTIC. Br Wolof
  2. Hi All I just finished the last test I have connected my MediaCenter to the 0404 via SPDIF IN. 1-Start playing the music on the MediaCenter 2-Switch ON the 0404, the EMU switch automatically to the EXT clok. Conclusion: - Everything is OK, i cannot believe, the music is there !!!!!!!!! - That means: or my CD player is not sending any data via SPDIF or the 0404 cannot get synch with my CD player. Now i definitely know the 0404 is working very fine. Now i have to fight with my CD player to know why it is so quiet via the SPDIF!!!!!!! Br Wolof
  3. Bonjour I just did the test with another Digital cable. 1-The S/PDIF button on the unit is set to the correct input (coaxial ) 2- To activate S/PDIF to Analog out, I did a power cycle of 0404 (My CD player already connected and playing something), 3-0404 set "Direct Monitor" to "Main" and thes SPDIF was set to Coaxial Still NO sound I will performed the test with another digital equipment connected to the 0404 via SPDIF (maybe my CD player is not sending any signal via SPDIF????? 24/44 or 24/96) I have also changed the setting of the 0404 via my computer by setting the clock to external in such way that the 0404 get it synch from the external device via SPDIF, but still no success The 0404 remain still in INT clock. Can someone confirm that the 0404 can really operate as stanalone DAC D>A converter without the LAPTOP connected via USB?????? I will continue the investigation and will let you know Thanks for your cooperation and help Br Wolof
  4. Hello Thanks for your quick answer. I did what you proposed to me with NO success. 1-I switch off the 0404 2-I set the CD player to 24/96 output (The CD player can go up to 24/192) 3-I start playing the CD and then 4-Switch on the 0404 Still no sound going out. My CD player has following option: -Sample rate conversion 44, 96, 192KHZ (i set it to 96) -Analog Output ON/OFF (i have tested both) -Output gain (I have set 0 db) Maybe the audioquest digital cable i'm using do not suit he 0404? But i have already used with success this digital cable between my MediaCenter and another converter (SPDIF). Any other suggestion are welcome? I really want to test the 0404 as a stand alone DA Converter via SPDIF. (I want to compare how far the internal DAC of the 0404 is compare to my CD player) Thanks in advance for your help. Br Wolof
