Hi everyone, Now I finally had a couple of hours for listening to the new software. I'm more then happy. Voices seem the first time right, more transparency, more open. Bass gets more precision. It may sound a bit less warm but who knows how a recording was meant to sound? For me a big step forward. Frank

Auralic Aires: Optimizing sound quality

Hello Aries owners, I tried to build my own short USB DAC cable with 2 solid silver wires for data only as my DAC has its own power supply. But the Aries doesn't see my DAC anymore. Any idea? Frank -

Hi kennyb123, I had the LE for some weeks before my dealer could get the real one for me. With my DAC the LE was really inferior. As I had both for some days the biggest difference made the LPS - as I tried it with the LE, too. The LE was less rounded, slightly grainy. Hope this help - please try to get any LPS on your LE. -
Help needed, my Aries doesn't stream anymore. Got my LE version replaced by the real one, updated to 1.10 and played some tracks. Now I only get the first 6 seconds played and then it stops, Aries going into off mode. Also wimp does the same: only 6 seconds! Reset doesn't help, long power disconnect doesn't help, tried to update firmware again , not possible. Anyone any idea? Frank

Hallo Patatorz, I really have a better SQ via USB memory stick (128gb) vs my old Sony laptop with minimserver - smoother and less grained. But my laptop was always working in the background even with fidelizer, so maybe a good NAS would be better. I tested a 2.5 HD on the USB port but SQ was not the same. So I stay with the stick so far. SQ is great but I seem to hear more weaknesses in a lot of albums I before rated good. Also USB cables have more differences then in my old setup, maybe time to invest in a really good one. Frank
