  1. A Bryston Buc-1 might do the trick. https://www.google.com/amp/s/hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/dac/bryston-buc-1-usb-converter/amp/
  2. I purchased one of those myself and was extremely glad I did. I was able to rip about 250-300 cds per day (which doesn't sound like a lot). The beauty of it is that you don't have to be there while the ripping is taking place. It can be a little twerky to set up if you're using windows 8 (Start is back is a must app for windows 8). Unfortunately, no more cd robots are availalble from that vendor. You might want to consider starting a post to see if anyone in your geographic area has one and might be willing to part with it. Once you've done the major ripping, you tend to not use it anymore. Good luck.
  3. As I'm still a developing neophyte in computer audio, I would certainly yield to your widsom. Some time over the next few months, I intend to purchase a usb dac to use with my htpc. I'm in the process of building my knowledge base so I can make an informed decision. If I knew what I know now, I probably would have bought the 105 instead of the 103 but at the time computer audio was not on my mind (I was looking for a universal disk play to replace my cd transport). By the way, I read and enjoy your articles every month in Stereophile. Thanks, Mike
  4. If you use dlna with the 105, you will not be able to use the dsp or audio engine features of JRiver not the to mention the asynchronous usb (which the 103 does not have). I would suggest that you use the usb.
  5. With the help of the folks on the JRiver forum, I determined I was receiving interference from other devices on my wifi. l ultimately resolved the problem by setting up a dedicated wifi network with a second router. The only devices on that network are my computer and my Oppo. Everything works like charm now.
  6. Hi David, I have a similar setup as yours. My bdp 103 is connected to my computer via ethernet cable and then sends a digital signal to my dac. Eventually, when I figure everything out and the market settles, I'll look for a better dac Recently over the last few weeks, I've had difficulty getting JRiver 19 to work over dlna with my bdp 103. This happened shortly after Oppo's last firmware update. I thought I had I fixed one time but I'm getting stuttering and hang ups again. My posts on the matter at the JRiver forum are below. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Hangups and stutters with Oppo 103 [solved (I think)!!]]
