Try not to go too hard on me I am a new user trying to use my late 2012 Mac Mini as a music server. For a player I am using iTunes which is hooked to a NAD USB DAC wirelessly mated up to my Naim system. I was using the NAD DAC due to its wireless capability mostly. Now I want to try Audirvana to up the sound possibly a bit and some how deal with the sampling rates of my music collection. My biggest question is can I some how send the sound from Audirvana through the USB port through the NAD DAC or is it only output via the headphone/audio out port? Or is that counter productive running through the two of them? I have to admit I am using an archaic version of Audirvana 1.3.5 so maybe it does not have that feature.
Could this be my problem? Other wise so far I have not been able to compare btw NAD USB DAC and Audirvana as of yet. But I am hoping to have Audirvana running via the headphone jack tonight.
Any thoughts if this will be any better sounding... I do plan on upgrading to a better version as soon as possible. I just want to try it first for a bit.
