  1. I cannot answer the question, but I can tell you: Purifi Audio used March Audio products at the Munich High End show in May 2022 to demonstrate. They have a return policy They can adjust the gain to your specs. Lots of info on their website. May I suggest that you contact Alan March with your questions.
  2. Have you looked at March Audio? Aussie $ is only US$0.63 https://www.marchaudio.com/product/p262-stereo-power-amplifier/?v=6cc98ba2045f
  3. Hi Sorry to say, but the the guide here on how to rip CD's is not 100% complete. It is very good, but you need to practice a little bit and read a bit more. It is perfectly possible to save your CD's in a folder by CD etc. It is all to do how you set it up. I dont have as may CD's as you have and the first time I ripped them all in the way I understood from the instructions here. I then did a lot more reading and practiced with different folder structures, reripped them and now I am very happy. Rip a few in differnt setups so that you understand how the setups work before you go and rip them. Now for the good news or shall I say the best news, dpoweramps has a batch converter. If you have all your rips in one folder you do not have to rerip them. You can use the excellent batch converterto lots of things, inludong saving in different folder structures. All the best
  4. I could clearly hear a difference when I used a linear power supply. Prices for Squeezebox Touch are dropping - if you know where to look. Just sold mine for Aus $250
  5. Hi I am also in Australia. I find your post very interesting. Do you have knowledge of what some hifi guys are doing in Perth with i2S, usb, servers, power supplies etc. If not I would like o introduce you to them. There is also a guy in Tasmania that is following the Asus route, heavily modified. Great to see different ways to Audio Nirvana.
  6. This looks great. Very interested to hear more about it.
  7. I am following several posts on different forums regarding these speakers. By the way, I thought you were in Brisbane, now I see you are in Sydney? I am in Grafton . Anyway all reviews indicate that you need serious power for these speakers. If you message me I will direct you to a guy that has a pair which he has tested with several integrated amps, which may just help. Also re AVR's: AFAIK they have a bigger output when only 2 channels are used compared to when all channels are used. Personally, I would look for something second hand which will be much better value than new.
  8. What I did: Accees the NAS with QFfinder, go to File station, add folders, add permissions etc there. Once you have done that you will see the folders etc in finder and then you should be able to access them. That way you access it like a normal network drive and you dont need the constant passwords to access via Qfinder. I spent hours googling to get answers and I may be wrong, but that worked for me. Does not help that the manual is written for Windows. All the best
  9. I have also read that Synology works better with Mac than QNap. Once you understand how the QNap works it is not that bad.
  10. I will do a few replies as I have a QNAP NAS. First one, be glad you bought WD, I had to throw away 2 3TB Seagate Drives. I bought normal Hard Drives and take them out of their enclosures and use them as that was the cheapest I could find them. They would work when connected to the computer, when you put them in the NAS they just stop working.
  11. There is something funny going on here. I dont think the ram is the issue. I run a 2010 mac mini with a usb based wireless keyboard and Audirvana with no issues. There is a train of thought that you need to use a specific usb port for the usb cable, check out the Empirical Audio website. I use an Audiophilleo USB to Spdif converter on my dac. Have several dacs including the Mytek and have not had this issue. For a small investment get a Firewire cable - that should beat the usb and then you dont need a USB/spdif converter either. All the best
  12. Reviving an old thread. What is wrong with using a XLO usb cable?
