  1. Superdad, I've see the mac-mini "ground plane noise" issue on other forums and am looking for solutions myself and was wondering if you have any suggestions? The other threads I've read simply referred to "humming noise" thru the DAC but had no idea where it may have originated. I too have noticed this (late 2013 Mac-Mini/mavericks running A+ in hog mode). I put a galvanic isolator on my usb output and that had some positive effect though not as much as I'd hoped. I also believed that environmental static electricity build up was at fault (and did some rudimentary testing last winter which helped confirm the hypothesis) and this seems to have borne out well as the hum is much more noticeable in winter than in spring/summer when the humidity is higher as there is no/little static electricity build up. However, the hum is still present a low level and I was wondering if you have any suggestions about how to further isolate unwanted electrical artifacts. Thanks!
