  1. These synology nas boxes don't really have the cpu power to transcode video with plex either. If you're just talking about streaming audio with plex then it should work fine. Also minimserver should be no problem.
  2. The ls50's are nice speakers. I'm running them on my bedroom system. Kef R900, R600c, R300 in the living room... Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  3. I'd look at maybe a parasound or hegel integrated amp. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
  4. Not really interested in it or streaming in general even though I own a DAC that is supposed to have MQA support. I prefer buying my music and streaming from my own server. I signed up for spotify a few months back to try it out but cancelled after a month.
  5. I haven't got to the point in my system where expensive cables would even matter. Maybe if I had 20+k speakers, 15k monoblocks, 10k preamp etc. it might be worth it. I just have Mid-FI Kef-R series and parasound stuff so I use BJC 10 gauge speaker cable and LC1 sub cable.
  6. I like WD red nas drives. Got a ton of them in various 4u servers. They've all been flawless. knock knock... Just started buying wd red 8TB helium drives.
  7. So I ended up buying a Lumin T1. Will see how it goes. I might eventually have to get an iPad though. I've been testing bubbleupnp android app and It seems OK so far. Thanks for your suggestions guys.
  8. Thanks Cebolla, that's very good news. I will try to test some of these out in the next couple days.
  9. Yeah, the dac in the parasound p5 is pretty outdated. I don't think it supports 192khz flac, dsd, etc. To tell you the truth i'm probably more leaning toward buying the lumin d1. I've read that Lumin finally released an android app, though I don't know how good it is. If I can i'm going to try and buy from a place that has returns so just in case it doesn't work out i'm not stuck with it.
  10. I'm needing to buy a network streamer and need advice. Which one has the best sound quality and best android app between these 3 streamers listed in the subject line? If I were to buy a intel nuc I would probably just buy jriver with jremote & call it good. I want to be able to control with my android phone and have gapless playback to my parasound system. I don't want to have to get into buying ipads and all kinds of apple crap just to control my streamer. My equipment: Kef R900, parasound p5/a21, svs sb13u, synology 1513+ nas (minimserver). What would you guys choose? TIA.
  11. You're taking snippets of my posts out of context just to make me look bad please stop it. When I said mac cult it was replying to another person that was cracking a joke about Scientology. Please read the whole comment. But I suspect you know what you're doing. Anyway, I'm pretty much done replying here. At least to this thread. You can go argue with somebody else.
