  1. Thanks, i would like to have a no compromise DA conversion...prism Ada 8xr would be my first choice if i could afford it....
  2. Hello, i am going full active with 4-ways fronts and so for multi channel audio i need at least 12 audio channels... I am Now using Lynx aes 16 pc and two Lucid converters I would line to i prove DA conversion, so i need a top 16 channels converter... Prism ADA8xr with aes and 16 analog outs is around 12k euros, so that is IZ ADA... Among more affordablle solutions there are Lynx aurora, Antelope Orion 32 and Focusrite rednet 2 Are those latter a real improvement to the Lucid??? Which one? I am tempted by network based Focusrite (i don't know why but merging HAPI is not really tempting me...) Thanks
  3. Thank you very much, i succeeded making EVO working by bridging sound to Soundflower... Hqplayer-soundflower-HifaceEVO....now i know EVO can accept DoP M2TECH Srl Blog: hiFace and hiFace Evo transfer DoP (DSD over PCM) to their outputs - hiFace e hiFace Evo trasferiscono DoP (DSD over PCM) alle loro uscite But my DAC won't (is a previous version, before may 2014)...now i should try a DAC firmware upgrade to see if i can manage DSD Question is, wheter dac will accept 384K dsd trough I2S, EVO will be still limited to 192? Which filter should i select in hqplayer? Thanks again
  4. I cannot make my test NAA (win7 based on a old Eeepc Asus i have) working with an HIFACE EVO usb interface http://www.m2tech.biz/evo.html Installed windows m2tech drivers on NAA but Hqplayer, running on a 10.8 macmini doesen't connect to NAA If i skip EVO and connect NAA to Audiogd DAC works properly Is it possible to use custom ASIO drivers to make HIFACE EVO working in conjunction with NAA? i have the complete setup EVO+CLOCK+PSU connected I2s to AudioGD DAC...

    New Amarra 3.0

I think Amarra is the best player (should try audirvana) and at first listenings of version 3 i had that impressions you described about bass and highs....it seems more "flat"....it doesen't make my feet move like 2.6 :-) (too much relaxed?? :-) ) i will try to listen more extensively version 3.0 but i still prefer and like very much sonic quality of 2.6 I don't know why this happens, teorically every player should sound the same if bitperfect, but Amarra 2.6 was better than others i tried and now it seems version 3.0 be different from 2.6...Why?? Is there a sort of sound equalization or modelling? Some alghoritm that makes players different from each other??

    New Amarra 3.0

I am using it with macmini with Hiface EVO in I2S to an audiogd nfb 7 dac i didn't uninstalled 2.6 version and did some comparison switching between 2.6 and 3...it seems to me 3.0 is a little bit less detailed on all the band, in lower and upper end with sound less "open" Anybody has same impressions??
  7. Hi, i just tried my new EVO connected to AUDIOGD NFB 7.32 by I2S...it was a little bit tricky because I2S pinout on EVO manual and M2tech site is wrong, so at the beginning no chance to get sound out the DAC via I2S... From M2tec support i quickly had the correct schematics and built a 20 cm I2S cable with a shielded CAT6 cable and after connetcing a MACMINI with AMARRA to the EVO, i finally could hear how I2S sounds... I think I2S is far more better than AES or Coax...it sounds smoother and refined with more focus on instruments and voices...coupling MAC (amarra) + EVO and NFB to a Krell HTS 7.1 heavly tweaked and a Krell TAS in biamplification of a pair of BG RADIA L800 sound is crystal clear, dynamic and smooth as i always wanted it to be Now i am waiting an EVO clock and power supply to complete the full EVO setup....
  8. I aked also to M2TECH, they quickly answered...here is reply "Salve, Allo stato attuale sicuramente la combinazione EVO+HIFACE2 funziona, mentre due dispositivi simili vengono sovrascritti ed in pratica l'ultimo collegato è quello disponibile. Infine di seguito il link per il nuovo driver per Mavericks per l'hiFace EVO http://www.m2tech.biz/it/mavericks_install.html Saluti" Translated it sounds The combination of EVO and Hiface2 works for sure, but two similar devices will be overwritten and the last connected only will be shown mmmmmm i sould try hiface2....or buy an external analog crossover!
  9. Is it possible on mavericks (or 10.8 i am running) to run simoultaneously two hiface EVO or one EVO and one hiface2?? I would like to biamp my front speakers sending audio from Amarra with soundflower to Logic and apply crossover and use combined device to output 4 channels spdif (or I2S with 2 EVO) i currently use macmini, Amarra hifi and EVO with clock and battery amp in I2S to an Audiogd NFB 7.32 (i would buy a second one) and than to Krell HTS and TAS with BG radia L800 speakers that requires to be biamped......sounds great IMHO...
