  1. Has anyone had their Aries display go dark/blank after a firmware upgrade and managed to get it back working properly? If so, what did you do??? I upgraded my Aries firmware last week to 2.2 after being off-line for a month while reorganizing my music to a USB drive and the display went dark. When I realized firmware 2.3 was out today I updated with fingers crossed (I think it updated automatically) but the display is still dark. Medman, is your comment about Auralic looking into a fix (I bolded your last sentence) about the spontaneous update or about the display going dark? Thanks.
  2. Thanks ted_b. I think I will do 1/2 when I get the Aries....soon. Can't wait. But, I think I will start to read up on the products in 3...while I also read up on the Lightning software in the other thread. With lots of DSD files, I think 3 ultimately is the way to go.
  3. Just want to say thanks for the good discussion/info over that past 30 or so posts dealing with goldendarko's situation. I've learned a great deal. I'm in a similar situation with a PC and JRiver, WD NAS (MyBookLive which was preloaded with Twonky) with lots of 96, 192kHz and DSD files, and hopefully very soon an Aries connected to my DAC. I'm also not wanting to keep my PC turned on when listening to music, and not wanting a PC in the same room as the hi-fi system. Not as simple as previously thought...looking forward to Aries' ability to directly connect to USB external HD.
  4. I'm in Canada too - BC. Thinking of ordering directly from Auralic (or maybe just drive south for a few hours and pick one up on a bit of a holiday?). I'd like to know final price too - including import duties, as product is not made in USA. Itching to get one. Just need to read some "final" reviews and make sure of compatibility with a proposed dac/preamp purchase.
  5. eligeorgia: Regarding "how" - On Auralic.com on the right side of the web page select "Customer Support and Feedback" then select "Distribution Network" and on the right there is a link "purchase from us" and also a link to "authorized dealer list" ... If you are looking for a local dealer and don't see one close enough I'd suggest checking this periodically for changes. I was looking for a Canadian distributor and didn't see one a while back but Audio-Elf graciously pointed me there and lo and behold there was a distributor! Anxiety relieved and replaced with anticipation! Regarding when...I don't know. Thanks to wappinghigh for the link to the list of DACs.
  6. I echo the request for a list of compatible DACs... Have learned much about the Aries and DACs and USB from the posts, so thanks to those in the know, but have not learned enough to confidently buy a DAC. Have postponed buying a DAC to wait for release of the Aries and initial reviews...not enough pennies for an Auralic which undoubtedly would be compatible, so eyeing up the Benchmark DAC2HGC. Have upgraded other components of my system and am impatiently waiting for the Aries!!! (and the Benchmark)
  7. Thank you Audio_ELF. Guess I somehow missed that when perusing their website (on a regular basis). Feel much better now.
  8. Extremely interested in the AURALiC Aries. Does anyone know of any Canadian distributors???!
