Has anyone attempted to go into airport and setup the internal network ? If so, Does the Rendu recognize its address over the wifi ?

I realize Aries is a move from computer execution, but will/is Lightning software moving toward file integration ? I understand this is all beta, but page after page of data "fixes", is a turn-off. So my question to Mr Wang and Co. would be, will Lightning deliver proprietary scripting to integrate libraries stored elsewhere ?

What's that ?, Qubuz has filed for the US version of Chapter 11. Streaming purported "hi-Rez" may have exposed their true business model. Will this be the trend ? Sorry, thought this relevant somehow.

thanks Ted.... static Apple computers allow a local network thru Airport. Other Apple and IOS devices recognize this LAN even though it has no router or internet connection. JRemote allows for this in it's setup. I don't doubt Lightning DS will work when devices have "wifi" enabled, but really need that qualified. Further, if Aries will connect such, can a 4G data based IOS device then pass streaming audio, sourced cellularly ?

Ok, replying to myself here. Wang ? Someone tell me whether the Aries will have a recognizable internal network, one the IOS app can see with such devices ? The JRemote app works well his way, no router no internet. Obvious 2nd question, will you be able to use a 4g data stream somehow ?

Perhaps off topic. My only connect to the outside world is a 4G LTE tower nearby. I utilize the quasi LAN internal network as set thru Airport. The JRiver remote IOS app works well to control the library this way, no Ethernet. In other words WIFI not connected to the internet. Yes I could eat gobs of my data plan streaming thru Hotspot to another device, and great for occasional outside sources. BTW, appears the likes of Qobuz are bankrupt bound ! So the $64k question is will the Aries software include internal networking and IOS app connection ? Further, will it recognize 4G phone line data streams ? Just trying to find options here, sorry if off subject.

If I read you right Sonic77, you're less than thrilled with Chord rep. I have solicited product comparative comments from multiple US Chord "dealers". Suffice it to say, they're "all over the map". My impression is they all take directive from Bluebird, the importer. Interesting, comments here lead me to believe you fellows prefer to "dial direct".

I do not have any audible noise to the sound floor, when using the Pure Power/ Audiophilleo with the HD. Further, having A/B auditioned with Pardo LPS, only one out of 19 in our group heard anything "remarkable". I do certainly agree the USB port, powered or not, is a noise suspect, so avoid use. Missing here is Watt's disposition re Chord's inclination to improve the tap and shaping software for the base HD. I've been told, there's no PCM enhancement with the Hugo and that it has been physically modified to accept "real life" sized ICs. Be sure you get the latest version should you care to double down your investment simply to go mobile. We'll be auditioning one in our group early in June

OK, just downloaded Mavericks USB driver from Chord site. QUTE HD does not recognize the input, though it cycles to find an input, it does not 'see' the USB, the LED is not lit up. Maverick software is up to date.

Hey Ted..... I need to visit and audition your Timepieces one day. New to forum but wanted clarification. Reviewing an Audio Beat interview with Robert, he disses external power supplies, says the internal filtering, noise shaping, and over sampling are more than capable inherent to his design. Question, with those implementing LPS types, are you "better" experiences based on a higher level of resolution or simply a "different" sound ? Also in this article Rob mentions the SPIDIF input was 384 capable in the base HD model. I don't have such files, is this true ? Finally, what are the merits and process for simply updating the HD for Mavericks hi Rez PCM ? thanks guys, great forum
