  1. On the Immersive Audio Album site I saw mention of this device which looks potentially interesting as an alternative to the Nvidia Shield to playback MKV files via HDMI. It will support a USB device up to 8 TB and it is inexpensive…NEUMI Atom 4K Ultra-HD Digital Media Player for USB Drives and SD Cards.
  2. @The Computer Audiophile I may need to give the Shield a try.. Maybe use the Oppo for mch dsd files via USB
  3. I copied the MKV files to a flash drive that I plugged into my Oppo 103D which is connected to an AVM70. I can play the files but the AVM70 does not see the files as Atmos. It shows Dolby Surround as the decoding. I have the same issue with Yello Point MKV files i extracted with MakeMKV. However if I play the Blu-ray of Point it decodes as Atmos. Any thought why this might be happening? Thanks
  4. This is the screenshot of my search of albums on Minimserver just before switching to another app.. when I return the search is cleared. It is still happening on my system
  5. I do have an Oppo 103D I use for ripping SACDs. It turns out as you said the Oppo can play MKV files from USB Flash drive. So I was ripping the Yello Point Atmos blu-ray to extract the Atmos audio files.. I ended up with one mkv file that has all the tracks. Is there a way to break this into individual mkv files per track or did I possibly miss an option in MakeMKV when I did the rip? Thanks
  6. @The Computer Audiophile I found out from Anthem that the Ethernet interface is only for the GUI and firmware updates..no streaming music….So does Kodi on NVIDIA Shield support streaming mch dsd as well as MKV? Thanks
  7. In the past when MQA was growing on Tidal someone was able to build and post a spreadsheet of all the MQA albums on Tidal. Is there a way to do this for the Atmos albums on Tidal or Apple Music?
  8. @The Computer Audiophile thanks. I will take a look at @JoeWhip post about that. I was under the impression that the Anthem could stream some form of Atmos music files directly from the NAS. Anthem support claims it will work that way for mch dsd files I have ripped although I have not found any users actually doing it. I guess I will find out.
  9. I am currently in the process of upgrading my current 2-channel/5.1 system to a 2-channel/5.2.4 system to dive deeper into immersive music. Since my system includes video for movies/TV I am moving to an Anthem AVM-70. My 2 channel is a Lumin A1/Leedh volume control/Coda No.8 amp. I have experience ripping SACD as well as other 5.1 DVD/Blu-ray to my NAS using MakeMKV followed by DVDAE to extract the audio. I am interested in understanding the tools to extract the Atrmos music files from the MKV container using a Mac. I see mention of Music Media Helper and MKVCleaver but those seem to be Windows only tools. Also what file types would I be extracting? (wav, Flac, mp4)? Thanks for the insights. Always fun to learn new things
  10. This is what it came up with for my space...I wanted to avoid mounting in the ceiling and the tool recommended all 4 height speakers at the wall/ceiling boundary My real struggle is that my front left right and center are all from a manufacturing that does not exist any longer (Green Mountain Audio)...Love the speakers so trying to figure out the right choice...I thought about actives for the rear and height like Focal Alpha Evo 55 or 65....or finding a passive with similar qualities to my L/C/R which use a Morel MDT 44 tweeter and Audax HM130-Z12 midrange speakerlayout_roy.pdf
  11. I used the Atmos speaker calculator at Cinema-tools.com to suggest the placement of the Atmos height speakers I would be adding to take my 5.1 system to a 5.1.4 system. Does anyone have experience with this calculator to know if it’s recommendations are accurate?
  12. I have a 4th Gen IPad Air. It only happens with searches on the NAS. I have a Synology DS1813 running Minimserver
  13. I noticed after one of the recent Lumin app updates that if I do a search say within albums or artists and then navigate to another app on my iPad and then return to the Lumin app that the prior search is gone and I would need to re-execute the search. Is there some option I am missing to disable that behavior?
  14. It looks like Lumin A1 users do not get enabled for Tidal Max. Is that accurate and if so are there technical reasons for that? Thanks
  15. I am interested in users that have upgraded from a Lumin A1 using Leedh volume control to an X1. What were the performance differences you experienced in your system? Thanks
