  1. Ain't that the truth? I also found value in Stereo's cross-posts by the way.
  2. Here's an interesting update from Pedram Abrari (EVP of Technology at PonoMusic) from about a week ago, that I had missed until today. Sorry if it has already been posted somewhere here. BTW I have no professional association with Pono (!). I am a Kickstarter backer and very excited to receive my player however.
  3. Excellent. Thanks for adding Tapatalk support Chris.
  4. I'm still waiting on my T-shirt and poster. But I'm im Australia.
  5. Pono will not come with headphones. Last I heard at least.
  6. I don't really understand how Omnifone fits into the Pono system? Are they just providing already acquired music rights or is Pono adding a streaming service? I would have guessed what music rights they held would only be for streaming not sale. Just speculation of course. “Omnifone is providing the scalable music acquisition and delivery infrastructure but we are also working on some funky stuff such a technique to verify the provenance of the audio and its end-to-end signal path from the studio to the listener via the cloud.” Maybe Omnifone will run the retail site? Please help me with my obviously inadequate reading comprehension skills.
  7. That's a good point about Trans and Arc, I can definitely see some lineage there. To me they both still sound like quite "personal" works from Neil though. From what I understand of the recording of Le Noise, Lanois had substantial input providing both equipment and process. Hence my feeling that Le Noise's sound isn't necessarily representative of other NY releases. It's probably just my expectation bias however.
  8. I don't feel that Lanois' production on Le Noise is particularly representative of Neil Young's catalogue as a whole. Personally I love the sound of the stuff Neil has been releasing. Generally nice and warm with plenty of 'space'. Admittedly 'Le Noise' is a bit of a departure from that.
