Correction. mine too goes yellow when playing all pcm sample rates through the USB input. I was confused the day I wrote the quoted post because I was listening through the optical port at the time..

My impression is that the sonic improvements of the new filter which take place only in the bit perfect or minimum phase filter setting depending on the device indeed resemble the "effect" that MQA files have when decoded which means a substantial improvement to timing, stereophonic imaging and realistic reproduction (at least this is my perception). Since many ifi owners consider that sound phlosophy not to their taste and prefer perhaps a softer and more spacious effect to their sound by using dsd upsampling as more natural or realistic, rejecting MQA as "processed" or faulty which is fair enough. I do not understand why they would request for that MQA-ish effect to their sound but at the same time do not want Mqa which they do not like, since they want to retain the ability to upsample at very high frequencies which is their preference. Do not misunderstand me I do not want to judje how people like to enjoy their music but since Ifi still has all firmware options available for flashing our devices as they say them selves* why not try and choose which option we like most? It makes no sense to ask for something we reject but without wanting It as a real option at the same time since we will still keep listening the way we liked on the first place. Not to me at least.. *If the GTO™ digital filter is so ‘perfect’, why include the other filters with the Pro iDSD? As remarked before, individual listeners may have different listening preferences and rather than imposing one option, even if we feel this option is not the best, we prefer to leave the choice down to the individual. My black micro Idsd normally changes colour according to the fed sample rate after the firmware update.

You seem guite active for someone not interested. Please do not misunderstend me I respect your opinion. However. Please respect that I am not interested in It because I have allready made my mind and It is my right to publicly write It . You dont have to agree you know but you have to live with the fact that other people think otherwise. I will not continue this. Surely not here.

Dear Firedog. I can see you are pretty passionate about disliking MQA but.. First and foremost we are off topic. Last but not least I have personally been convinced by how obviously superior than ANY other format It sounds and please spare me the tech I’d rather listen to music. I would rather believe a respectable company with a very impressive pioneering portfolio in digital sound than any hater or blogger who Thinks otherwise. So please lets keep focused on this very interesting dac by Ifi many people have been waiting for so long. The nice people of Ifi are listening very carefully and work hard to give listeners the choice to completely bybasss It so no worries. Very Impressive and considering the phenomenal price/ performance ratio of the cheap ifi dac amps I presume this dac will be killer.. Not without a price though.. At 3000eur approximately It is also very very close to the AMR dac. In fact if someone has that sum available in cash the only thing from stopping them from going straight to the AMR 777 is it's much poorer format support. So will you update this as well I am not asking about the price as It is sure to go higher with any update.. Finally a personal comment. Even though at this price it is not realistically, financially approachable by me at this point of my audiophile life I can't help but saying that If it had an Iphono2 incorporated instead of the tube output stage It would surely make me lose a few hours of sleep. So are there any plans for such a version anytime in the future? Thanks for all the fun guys by a black label micro owner!..

What's the antenna for? Does It contain a streamer?

I just returned from the local annual hi fi show where i had a brief listen to the new nano i DSD through my iPhone. How do you do It? IF i exclude the fact that the Micro iDSD black has a massively more powerful headphone amp the difference in the quality between the two is very minimal!!! Now that's a surprise.. And even though the power is not as plentiful as in the micro It still had enough grunt to drive the Audeze i Sine to more than enough loud levels. This little Thing is a true miracle especially if we take the price into account.. A true steal which will not disappoint even with moderately difficult headphones..

I guess time will tell but let's leave it here since we are waaaay off topic..

Whatever.. You can go on on your quest and try to prove whatever you like as long as I do not have to explain my tastes and preferences each time... Ιt is not the first Time I see this happening In the audio world but I know that there is no point In reasoning with such phenomena so I will not. I Just do not care. I have a life to live and yes It is a bit better as far as my listening pleasure is concerned with MQA and I hope and believe It will catch on..
