I think that the fact the company was a Neil Young wet dream doomed them from the start. The reason Hamm left is because he realized it was going nowhere. -

Why am I not surprised? A group of amateurs does a niche product in a shrinking market segment solving a problem few people believe existed. The reason they went crowdfunding for the actual venture capital is that it was obvious to everyone they had no future. -
An entire thread about voting another poster off the island? Get a life. I hope none of the companies that advertise see this, good reason to dump CA like a rock

Actually the study was that if you told a group a wine was more expensive they would judge it better than the same wine if they were told it was less expensive. Their perceptions were backed up by FMRI scans. -
Klavier Music, home of such second and third rate performers such as "CINCINNATI WIND SYMPHONY" and "CHAMBER MUSIC PALM BEACH". Once again proving the one constant element of high res labels, miserable musicians.

Given the fact that pretty much every release, both popular and classical, from almost every record label is only available in standard CD Redbook, that's a pretty popular bandwagon. Then again, that's a decision made by people whose income depends on it not the audiophile backbencher kibitzers.

You have no way to know if Cookie Mareco's hearing isn't beyond its sell by date just like pretty much every else in her age range. What we do know is that she has a strong financial interest in promoting high resolution by having a label with artists that without the allure of high resolution for those who accept the audiophile dsd high resolution meme would have an audience of zero, including family members.

A Hi Res Bargain, courtesy of Pono.... or a glitch?
RealAudio replied to Chuck50's topic in General Forum
The CD is 6.99 on Amazon. Why anyone would think it makes sense to get a high rez version of music recorded on the only low rez capable equipment available in 1959 makes no sense to me. As for the Pono store, this may be the one bargain, but if you drill down virtually all its content is grossly overpriced. -

Here's a Pono store experience. Looked for some opera, put Wagner in the search box. I find a well know Decca Die Walkure release with Birgit Nilsson. Only available in standard CD resolution. Price $45.29, really. The CD is $24.34 on Amazon PonoMusic | Store http://amzn.to/14ohix1 -
What a joke. First, lots of Neil Young albums. Second, on the home page "new releases", they seem to misrepresent the release dates. An example, Quadrophenia listed as Nov 4, 2014 not its actual release in 1973. Ray Charles who has been dead has an album dated December 2014. Digging down a bit more, close to zero high rez classical and an overpriced lousy selection at that. Why spend $45 for a Wagner Die Walkure when you can get the identical CD for $14 on Amazon

Do Audio Cables Require A Break-In Period?

Newton developed calculus in the 1600s/1700s, he didn't envision all its uses than. In fact, telephony is very similar to digital music.
