I am having the same problems as the OP. I have tried the suggested routine, and it worked for about 20 minutes. Then the failing loop comes back.

I want to get the most I can out of this system, without going too crazy (i.e. mac powersupply upgrade, maybe down the road). 1) Anyone know how well the 851D handles jitter? Maybe i'm a little over concerned, due to others marketing, but how does it stack up next to peachtree audio's dac*it x? 2) Should I run USB directly to the Dac, or would I have better results using a USB to Coaxial converter? (M2Tech hiface 2 comes to mind) 3) Any other suggestions to try?
